Pleasure Point for the early. 5 - 7' high tide and freezing cold.

Took my shitty short board and regretted its lack of paddle power but glad I could duck dive the bigger sets. Getting out and onto waves in those conditions with all the water sloshing around made me realize how un-paddle fit I still am. Wetsuit gloves make every stroke harder as well.

Got a couple and then gave up and floated all the way down to Jacks and got out of the water there. Just.

Too much fcuken effort :x

Nice conditions today. Floundered around for 45 minutes without snaring a wave. Then got four waves in ten minutes. A couple of other duds then got one in.

Just checked the Bondi Cams. 6:35am….beach packed with swimmers. Surf about as crowded as it will be at 10:00am.

Overhead on the sets, felt like northeast wind swell.

Yep, beautiful waves.
Me and one other for a couple hours.
Shit load of sea life. Rays, dolphins, fish and little reef sharks. Birds feeding.
And that’s just what I could see.

You seem to get a few uncrowded surfs considering where you live. Is it the shark factor?

I do hunt the uncrowded options.
Only surf crowded spots when it is 100% necessary, ie points only, magnets only.
Can usually sniff something out though.

I just surfed fun as shit onshore Point surf with one other guy.

Most of my surfing this summer has been in uncrowded B-grade Point surf.

Went down four a swim about 4pm. Had a walk on the beach. I had kind of decided to stop fighting the crowds for a while but there were lots of little peaks and offshore winds had swung up. Went home and got the mal. Had a ball on a nice little bank down the south end.

On the NBs, just missed the shark alarm, waves a bit soft but still a few worth it.

I’ve been having a ball on the foamy this week. Today the swell direction changed a bit or something. Maybe the tides and slightly larger swell. Nabbed a couple after trying a different stretch that wasn’t as crowded but wasn’t really doing it either. Back on the bank I had been surfing but it was way more crowded. Good bank down south is tending to shut down more after an epic run this Summer.

Cyclone Gabrielle is just starting to have an effect.
Roaring SEasters the last couple of days and stronger today.

Mate rang yesterday afternoon and asked if I felt like a trip to Noosa.

Hell yeah. Especially when someone else has to find a park.

We got one over the back and legged it out to Little Cove.
Wave after wave from Johnson's to inside First Point.
300 metre paddle backs.

Sleep now.

And yes. Crowded to buggery but as usual, only a small percentage catching waves.
