Getting into full cranky curmudgeon mode lately.
Nice little banks but when incompetence is used to secure the take off you know you are at Bondi.
No good jockeying for position if your competitors are very capable of losing it on the take off and taking you out with them.
Anyway there’s still the odd one that slips through. Theres a crew of capable hipsters in the mix these days.

Went down expecting it to be flat but found a chest high peak.

Put proper fins in my foamie fish and had a ball.

Strange squall came through, howling northerly wind and rain followed by a light offshore and sunny conditions.

I scored well today. There was supposed to be a solid swell. I checked at 6am and there was not much happening.

Tried again at 8am, same, but I went out anyway. As I went down the cliff a solid set arrived. Just four of us out. The swell rose over the next half hour, two went in.

So there was just two for the next hour with the swell still building and perfect condions. After two hours we got hit by a long, monster set and washed all the way to the cliff. We both decided to call it a day.

Came back to check it out at 11am, 40 in the water and regular head and a half sets that continued all day. Three more similar days predicted!

Steve, that fcuking useless piece of shit, Surf Forecast, got that swell wrong by 3 fcuking hours. They need to lift their game!

Not tempted to venture outside your comfort zone now you’re retired beans? Get something decent rather than the overcrowded dross you’re used to?

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

100%.
I’m on nursing duties for the next foreseeable while as my wife is recovering from an operation for Osteoporosis.
Had another lacklustre surf today. Although I did get one good one in amongst the dross.
So that’s pretty much 12 out of the last fourteen daysIve been surfing. Nice little banks at the moment.

Having lived there for 10+ years. I reckon you can always find waves in the east. Bondi can get good and when it does the backpackers don’t last long. Although gotta hand it to them. They’ll have a crack at waves that they shouldn’t.
There was a while there when I just surfed Bondi,Maccas,Tama and Bronte. And if not you’ve got the Maroubra.
Bondi gets all south swell which is a massive bonus on the east coast. It’s no Wales. But if you keep and eye on conditions and are flexible time wise. You always get waves.

Yep, I basically run my day around the tides and traffic.
Re: backpackers 100%.
You watch people rock down when it’s huge, closing out and basically nasty and they do a few stretches on the sand and try to paddle out on a foamy.

You don't need to know that.

Like if Muhammad Ali is going to hit you, you don't ask him what his glove size is, you're more worried about the energy that's about to smash you.

Chest-high, slight onshore waves at a left reef. Rode my mid-length. Pretty fun until a couple of SUP’s arrived. Really enjoying surfing reefs again.

No offshore yet so big and messy. I went out early thinking the offshore would start soon. No such luck.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.
