I’ve seen a seal there before and at Southside and breamlea. Actually the one at breamlea was dead on the beach with a big chunk out of it as I ran up the point to paddle out.
Used to surf with them all the time on the bass coast beachies.

I surfed at Juc but I saw the seal at Point Danger. Really close to shore just cruising along the reef. I’ve rarely seen them on the surf coast.

In Hawaii for work and surfed a couple of different places, Mokes and Kewalo.
Man it's good to be in warm water and to go left.

My wife really didn’t like Waikiki. Gold Coast high rises everywhere.
I was stoked. Our apartment was directly in front of Ala Moana.
The Giligan’s Island Marina to our right. I could catch the elevator down and paddle straight out.
Hotel Pool was pretty crap and there’s no beach in front so I see why she wasn’t keen.

Surfing Hanalei Bay was unreal too.

I hate Waikiki, mostly stay with colleagues on the north shore or in Diamond Head, but I have meetings near the airport so end up there a few times a year and Bowls is pretty fun on a longboard.

Happy Valley. Very small NE swell.
Caught 4 waves. First time back in the water after Knee replacement.
5 weeks ago today.

No pain or discomfort.

Not sure I’ll tell the surgeon though.

Going great Trev. I was talking to a woman in the lane next to me at the pool this morning, she had a full knee replacement 5 months ago and still has a lot of pain. It’s been a very long and intense recovery for her although she’s improving and nothing is wrong.
