Would have been nice to have some nice 3-4ft days from the S-SE to make use of it for a while.

BTW how’d you end up in the comp? Did you beat surfing dude Phill Jarrett?
Got knocked out in the semi finali beat a couple of guys I haven't before.
The over 65s, over 70s and over 75s (me next year), are probably the most hotly contested age groups.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Didn't get a chance to talk to them. Not sure if they were from down there or just had them as souvenirs.
Given there were two of them I'm guessing they made the trip up.

Had a fun little surf this morning. Had to hunt for the right size one but hardly anyone was on it.

I haven't really been in the water for 3 weeks or so.

Fuck, it is gonna be cold when/if we get waves again. No chance to acclimatise from 20 degrees down to what... 17?

I had a quick surf yesterday, first one in 3 or 4 weeks. Flat again today.

Went down around 10 am. Crazy crowded. There appeared to be two comps on. A Mal One and what appeared to be a kids comp given the number of parents double parking on the drive through. Gave up and will attempt another run this arvo.

Worthwhile. Snared a park somehow. Surf was tiny but not really crowded. Got a few fast zippery lefts that just kept going in the stiff offshore.

I got fun head high punchy surf at likely the only place on the east coast with anything resembling that today.
Me and one guy for the first 40 minutes of light then I came in as the crowds descended.

Weird winter westerly that had some warmth behind it.
Usually freezing cold when they are that strength this time of year.

Pretty much the same here.
Looked abysmal at 5am.
By 6 it was looking better despite the dropping tide.
By the time I came in it was head high on the takeoffs.

Really good fun and not crowded despite school holidays.
