There was a baby bull shark playing in the waves yesterday.
Maybe 2ft long.
A few of us saw it.
We weren't sure what it was but I've just had a look at some pics of bull shark pups and I reckon that's what it was.
Wonder where Mum was?

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

well here she comes, rising from the east, not big yet but thicker and grindier.

I'm expecting big things from you Sydney-adjacent gaybos today
I achieved big things! Headies 6am, 3 to 4ft, beautiful conditions. By 10am that big left bommie that sounds like Commo's was double to triple overhead and pumping. Went out on my crap 7'2 90's gun with way too much rocker etc, but man, scored a few real big drops and nice big open walls. Surfed until 12pm, when the wind hit. I then snarfed down a pie and coke in full Grom Mode as I drove to t'Point, which was 4-5ft and firing, hitting the shelf hard. My arms were jelly as i took out the AB and raced a few sections. Last wave was a cracker!

now, absolutely fcuked.

Awesome swell.

Took the foamie out and snapped it. Junior ripped a fin out on his quad. A bit of swell around.

the whole summer of surf has caught up to me.

sat out overhead uncrowded point surf this arvo. Too cooked to consider it.

I'm so happy this week will be small.

time for ding repairs and a rest.

Pretty unusual to seea baby bull shark in the ocean. Their biochemistry allows them to swim up rivers - thats where they go to breed. It gives their babies asafe haven from their main predator, other sharks. They live upstream till they're big enough to survive in the ocean.

Maybe rain flushed this one down a river?

There was a bluebottle in the surf today. He looked like a nice one though so I shooed him away. Speaking of shoes. I just bought a new pair of Stan Smiths. Speaking of Smiths. There was good surfer called Col Smith. Actually there were two Col Smiths. One was better than the other. I wonder what happened to them..

Ah, how jaded you are Jimbo. Beneath your level to find such stuff of interest. May as well be a bluebottle you say. You have things of portent to share....go for it.
I get the impression you check in here when you're bored and then get annoyed if you find it boring.

They're certainly born upstream, but at least some of them head out to sea pretty quickly. Every summer I see them whiting hunting in packs of up to 6 in the surf when they are only about 45-50cms long. And I'm confident they weren't white or black tips because I have caught a few, and know my sharks.
And I don't think they'd been flushed out.
I've also caught some that were about 2ft long when a few kms out to sea and trolling fish baits for mackerel.

Checked out a few spots, everywhere was crowded with the smaller swell and light offshores.

There was about 30 out at Lefties, all in a tight little group. I tried Noises, didn't score, so reluctantly paddled over to Lefties.

And who should be at the top of the queue but my mate, it's been his staple for 30 years now. So I paddled over and he introduced me to his mates.

Then it was all "You take this one" and me saying "No you go". So I caught 5 hollow, head high rippers in about 30 minutes - there was a fairly long lull between sets.

One guy came up after I'd happily ripped a good wave and said "A McCoy huh, the perfect board for here".

This was all very unusual for me, I'm sure I'll be back to a bumbling idiot tomorrow.
