The "Starbutts" and "Hard Times" signs will probably be appropriated by the Oxford Street set.

Yeah how funny - I travel through Asia for work and have lost count of the amount of signs like this.

Also when I am working with people in China and I leave for the day or depart at the end of the trip they say things like "I will miss you" as that is the what they think should be said.

I am off to Beijing for the Olympics as an official on the Australian team so pretty pumped.

One of those 'unfortunate'
"Unavoidable reality of human mass suffering"
as our former Foreign Minister said, while blathering on about the mythical weapons of mass destruction :( .

Totally agree. Tibet is just blantant genocide and China's human rights abuses are fcuking shocking. I went there (and Tibet in 89) and in Chengdu some bank robbers robbed a bank on Thurs (a teller had an arm broken) , they were caught Friday and executed on Saturday. And that's been the general case and still is today......but no the authorities wouldn't won't to admit that now .... not just before their precious cnuting Olympics. Pornographers and hooligans are executed over there. Fcuk the Chinese government

Sure we trade with them and who fcuking doesn't but I don't think we should give in that easily to their blantant mass miss-information and general totalitarian approach.

Ringmaster you'd hate to have all your West Vicco freedom taken away from you in one foul swoop.......like when the fcukwits invaded Tibet in the 1950's and the world sat and watched.

You're right Fong......none of us should watch the Olympics at all.........but I kinda want to see who wins the 100m final. Maybe I'll watch the replay.

The olympics bores the shit out of me

The fact that China is hosting it after their human rights record just makes me want to watch it even less.

World Cup Soccer and Cricket are the only 4 year events I look forward to

"Having sex with children is prohibited (up to 10 years)

huh? once they get to 11 its ok then?

Think it was meant to be up to 10 years in jail.

Funny as KK. Not so funny the whole abuse of human rights by the Chinese. The only reason they have the Olympics is due to the backroom deals being done by the IOC which is essentially controlled by the fatcats in big business. No trade with China = no Olympics. Huge trade deals with China = you can have the Olympics and we'll even turn a blind eye to the atrocities you've committed and continue to commit against Tibet and you're own people. Tianamen Square really was'nt that long ago :(
