ripcurl w.c.t... the search... please dont do it

do we know yet if ripcurl are going to hold that w.c.t event over at gnarloo yet?. isnt it time for a new marketing campaign!.... sorry if this has already been answered on another thread

I'd say it's been confirmed, after watching the making of the rip curl search in Mexico they seem to have these things pretty much set in stone (in principle) about 6-9 months before the event.

Just out of curiousity what's the issue with holding it at gnarloo, wasn't it a regular contest site back in the day? And will it increase the crowds very much etc. it's not as if it's just a skip down the road like say Snapper, and it's not every year............

I'm really just asking, I don't know much about the issue at all,

Its gotta be Indo - The Dream Tour without Indo is like a flat-chested supermodel. Looks the goods but doesn't quite feel right.

i have never been to gnarloo, so i dont know if i should comment . but jack mcoy told me of the logistics of leaving nothing behind after the billabong event back in the 90s ... they only had 19 people in total there.... as for competent local surfers in the area, i reckon they would take down big names if the chance arose through wildcards..... anyway i hope ripcurl leave the idea alone, its hardly a secret spot, but it seems to be located in a very fragile environ. NOT suited to lots of trucks full of c.t circus gear....
