Well swellnet/coastalwatch aren't exactly calling for a big swell on Saturday but I just checked windguru and they're saying 2.9m @ 10 seconds which generally translates into about 6ft (I'm just going by averages from their predictions). Also with a SW wind.
But Sunday looks better with W/NW'ers but smaller waves.
Any thoughts? Windguru is usually pretty accurate but I don't know if I should treat them as a genuine source?

Strange for only one TC up in Q'land this year.
There should be more coming, hopefully soon, before the ITCZ moves north again... but hello southerly swell window

Windguru uses the exact same data that 95% of all weather/swell models available on the web use. So, it's accuracy is pretty much the same as the swell charts you've seen elsewhere.
The computer models have now picked up this small Tasman Low a little better than the Wednesday morning runs suggested (which was the basis for my last forecast), so wave heights will be a little larger than suggested on Wednesday (3ft). 6ft is a stretch though.

Ben,
When is the next Swellnet surf forecast coming out? Will it be up before 5pm?

I'm currently preparing it and hope to have it out in the next few hours, but I'm on the road and mobile internet access has been patchy. Should be up before 5pm, assuming there are no other distractions in the meantime (they have a habit of appearing at the eleventh hour).
