Re: Ask Carroll
i've been doing some extensive surfing with my son this week in the perfect little conditions up here. i noticed there was something not quite right with him, and he was getting caught up in his leggie a bit, and then it struck me. Like petrol being thrown in my eyes and a wooden stake being drawn simultaneously through my heart.
my son, is in fact a goofyfoot.
quelle horreur
how did you handle the news when you learned of tom's horrible natural affliction of his right foot forward?

Re: Ask Carroll
Oils are still one of the greatest live acts I've ever seen. Up there with the likes of AC/ DC. Saw Rob Hirst in Newport the other day. He is pretty open about what he thinks about Garrett's dreadful shot at being a politician.

Re: Ask Carroll
Well it was of a piece with our brotherly relationship to that point. Most of the time I had looked on him with a certain amount of pity, and that was merely exacerbated by his, as you call it, "affliction".Braithy wrote:how did you handle the news when you learned of tom's horrible natural affliction of his right foot forward?
Thank the Lord we have all grown up now.
Re: Ask Carroll
You mean figuratively.
Re: Ask Carroll
Braithy, I am about to tell you something which will make you feel a whole lot better about it. I too am a goofy footer.Braithy wrote:i've been doing some extensive surfing with my son this week in the perfect little conditions up here. i noticed there was something not quite right with him, and he was getting caught up in his leggie a bit, and then it struck me. i wonder what atrocities one must have committed in a previous life to earn the burden of riding waves goofyfoot in their next life?
Re: Ask Carroll
Dunno. But they'll all come back to ride SUPs in the next.Braithy wrote:i wonder what atrocities one must have committed in a previous life to earn the burden of riding waves goofyfoot in their next life?
Beanpole
You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Piss off you blokes. Goofyfooters on the whole are known to have higher IQ's, are better looking, better lovers, smell better, are not fatties, and don't soil their pants like natural footers.

Oh you can safely assume that any time I refer to things like "adulthood" in this context, it is carrying a significant load of irony.alakaboo wrote:You mean figuratively.

I'm left handed, left footed, shoot with my left eye and use chopsticks left handed.BA wrote:Piss off you blokes. Goofyfooters on the whole are known to have higher IQ's, are better looking, better lovers, smell better, are not fatties, and don't soil their pants like natural footers.
But f;&k all that, I surf natural.
Re: Ask Carroll
I never understood why Garrett didnt join the greens. Given the messages in the songs.
I think he woujld been a huge boost to their primary vote and put them in a real position of keeping the bastards honest.
Instead became another of the balnd laborites who lost all credability with me once he approved the tasmania pulp mill.

Re: Ask Carroll
Because like most activists he was terrible at politics, and got terrible advice.

Re: Ask Carroll
Who here had an Oil's hand logo on their board in the 80s? Is there a more iconic NN board than an Energy Thruster with an Oil's hand logo on the nose?
Since others are confessing their sins, im a goofy too. Could this explain my kookness?

Re: Ask Carroll
I never had an Oils hand on a surfboard. Cultural Moment Missed I guess.
Then again I can't remember any of the NN crew having such a thing either, so...
I wouldn't worry about being a goofy NK. Just be thankful you aren't one of Braithwaite's children.
