I’ve had Wobbies try to chew on my feet while beach fishing a couple of times like angry little Jack Russells.

Yep, Yorke Peninsula this time. They’re reporting that he’s died. Teenager surfing with his dad.

I think about it a lot more than I ever used to that’s for sure.
What’s really put it front and centre is the last one near Streaky was at Granites, which has always been a very well known and consistent spot, probably surfed more than anywhere else except Cactus, and I never heard of any sightings there. Cactus has had it’s share. I always felt kind of secure at Granites.

Yes, I have some serious spooks. Was surfing alone on an outside bank just this side of Elliston a couple of months back. Was having a fun surf for about an hour then got the heeby jeebies and went in

Also swimming near home in the bay given recent reliable sightings of a 4 m white

Since 1990 when Great Whites were protected they have made up some lost ground and are back up to about 70 percent of their historical level. But still, the recovery is going slowly. Females don't start reproducing until they're about 15-feet long.

I'm not so sure we can have a high degree of confidence in the basic biological knowledge of white sharks.

Especially when it comes to reproduction.

The GW's were place on the endangered list due to faulty data. They're thriving.
