A investigatory nibble? Fuck me, have you seen the footage. It hit him hard and kept going back for more.

I wonder if there was lot of burley in the water from the fisho's which contributed to the presence of the shark?
Very unlikely. You’re not gonna be carting any significant amount of burley fishing on the rocks.

other way around Cranked.

I recommend reading the coroner reports of the WA and SA attacks which were mostly from adult whites.

full or partial consumption is common, contrary to popular belief.
Not by me. I’ve seen Jaws the only rigorous scientific study of Great Whites.

By definition that must be a very small sample size as there must be only a few instances of human victims being eaten and even fewer where they were also able to examine the stomach contents of the shark.

I read another study that also looked at stomach contents of great whites. They found that mature great whites took up a different movement and diet pattern to juveniles. Adults travelled vast distances and burned masses of calories, juveniles stayed locally and did not need near as many calorie's. They concluded that the adult great whites needed high energy and plentiful food that was not found on human like prey but was provided by whales, dolphins and seals. Human like prey were far to bony and had very little fat when compared to seals, whales and dolphin's. In addition the plentiful bones caused problems for them.

Could you link to that study please?

Partial or whole consumption of white shark victims is very well documented in coroner's and official attack reports.

Which one?

It's all junk science put together by a reporter who has zero idea of the issue.

Chris Neff is particularly ideologically driven and blind to evidence in his body of work.

Dr Pepin-Neff said deaths from shark attacks more commonly result from blood loss, over the injuries survived from multiple bites.

“What’s exceptionally rare is for a shark to bite a human and then to bite them again,” he said.

Incorrect.

If the body was never recovered how can you say it was full consumption?

Read it a few years ago and haven't been able to find it again. It seemed very reputable when I read it.

If you scan this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_f ... _Australia

you will see that in the vast majority of great white attacks the victim is not eaten. And it is only the adult great whites that prefer seals, whales etc. not the juveniles.

if you scan that list you find several examples of people being bitten in half or taken.

Also that list is shitt, missing many fatal attacks in Aus, including the ones I posted above.

So the list above is terrible data, worthless in fact, because it misses so many fatal attacks.

Also, sharks preferring mammalian prey does not infer that human prey could not and is not partially or fully consumed.

Come on Cranked, can you do a little better mate.

Aren't you a computer guy who knows data?

Thats his job,

He's an academic/advocate who's area of expertise is telling the general public that shark attacks are nothing more than a naming issue.

Deadset charlatan.
