I think I may be a latte sipping blow in.

Although I actually prefer double choc skinny mochaccinos.

With a caramel squeeze.

does he ride a long board, does he drive a bmw, does he drink latte, does he turn up before 730 or after 730, does he surf only in summer, only on saturday mid morning, does he ride a mctavish, can he noseride, is it a log or a performance longboard, is it a shortboarder riding a longboard, is he really a longboarder if he doesnt walk the plank, does he wear pink shirts, is he in touch with his femanine side, does he wear a suit to work, is he brazillian ?

my point is

who f&%king cares ?

we dont need to justify ourselves.

we all surf, thats our common ground.

and no, i dont own a pink shirt (or a trans am, but i wish i did !)

City folks got no imagination.

Put the billy on, have a shit, bung a tea bag, hot water and milk in the travelling mug (i.e. cup not driver), chuck surfing kit in the back of the ute, sip while your waking up on the ten minute drive to the beach and finish while you're checking where you're hopefully gunna surf. Only works with tea though (liptons or bushells optional). Have a slash and hit it. Life is good.

I know them fellas from a past life, and there's a hot water service across the road from the Alley car park for their cuppas. What a crack up.

Good call on Lazza there. I have nothing against Lazza. Just a funny good call. Always preferred Matlock to Division 4, though.

I have a confession to make...I'm a latte sipping blow in. I fit all the criteria. I have a job and I wear a suit. I drive a (25 year old) European car. I like coffee. Oh my god.

I feel so embarrassed as I wander past the pack of self declared "locals" who won't be surfing in another 5 years to go for a surf. I feel an overwhelming compulsion to chuck in my job, get rid of the car such is my revulsion at my pitiable state.

This talk about "real" surfers is pretty, well, pathetic.

you have a good point there Balloons...

i've been up the coast for 12 years & i'm still a blow-in "from sydney"...

but it's funny up here... for the over 35 age bracket, it's the same few faces in the water all the time...

where are some of the real "locals" when the Haven gets around 10foot, or avoca gets above 6foot, or when it's raining & cold, or when the breeze is up, or out of holiday season, or when the tide is not quite right ?

they are watching from the carpark with a coffee in hand...

Maybe one of the surf companies will see an opportunity with this. Surf thermoses with Core, locals only, only a tea drinker knows the feeling printed all over it
Sponsorship deals with International Roast, Nescafe and Bushells.
Ads with knarly locals going "tea, milk, with two sugars-because I live here."
"Where can I get a decent cup of coffee around here?"
"Dunno, I'm a local."
Does this thread have something to do with the increase in coffee shops around Nth Steine?

There are so many rules in surfing nowadays.

Could someone confirm whether it is ok to drink flat whites?

Surely they've been around since long before trendy coffee shops and trendy frothed milk.

I don't think I'll sleep properly until someone can clear this up.
