Top 25 pictures of the last 20 years - and 4 relate to surfing. Picture 1 looks a bit 'crowded' with about 100 guys out

I've had a lot of explosive fun on waves being hit by backwash, but this Kookslams little clip is just about the best I've seen. Particularly, as the wave is barely 2 foot when the chap paddles in.

Hey I know that guy!
That's my old buddy, Colin Herlihy !, showed me that clip about 5 - 6 years ago. It's in Puerto Rico I think.
He was a student of mine in Marine Technology here in NC. Living in Hawaii now with his dad making surf films. Does all kinds of crazy shit with Jamie O'Brien. fearless charger. he deliberately tried for that effect, btw.

Makes city beachies seem deserted in comparison.

At the video says "One swell, many fails".............maybe sums up the Gold Coast. In the last seconds of the video the photographer is cacking himself with laughter.

Warning......I will be travelling North after Xmas mayhem and will attempt to surf waves other than Bondi.......kind of scary.......what if the waves don't close out. I will stick to the really crowded spots for familiarity and reduced risk of shark attack.

I have been keeping notes of The ERs Favorite surf spots.

Well you'll have to do something other than aerials then.

Interesting. The test pilot does say he is 16 kgs too heavy for the intended carrying weight of the sled. Given that, it goes better than you might expect. Good on GW. Refresh the mind by wiping the design slate a bit clean. I don't think he reckons this is what everyone will be riding.
