She's a good surfer but ya wouldn't know it eh. It's playing a v secondary role in most of your heads. Whoever Alana really is, you're not gonna see it. Blinded by the ass.
Although some previous posts pretty much prove Nicks position more than valid ... I'd like to make an assumption ... giggle giggle giggle he said arse-umption. But seriously folks ... the whim-of-mans tour has been locked in the basement of professional surfing for an eternity ... fed scraps and only let out to exercise when conditions were deemed less than contestable for the fellas.
Layne Beachley won six world titled ... six world titles ... thats six world titles for frock-wearing sake ... with bugger all backing from the big three. She was treated as a pariah for much of that career ... not by her peers but by the industry she endorsed by default.
I can't blame the new crew for looking elsewhere to cement their financial future. The surf industry on a whole are jettisoning sponsored baggage at a rate not seen before. Its not rocket lettuce to figure out that being a girl doesn't cut the mustard unless you can bring something to the table. Get off the table Mabel the moneys for the drinks.
Gone are the days when your average joe was a better surfer than the top girls ... these sheilas can out-surf most blokes ... hands down ... they're talented and attractive ... and they want to achieve.
If wearing a bikini gives them a leg up ... so be it.
They need more sponsorship dollars ... its not coming from the industry ... if cosmetic companies or heaven forbid one of the heavy weight tampon touters want to toss them some dollars ... it can only be a good thing ... cant it. It would be interesting to see Libra and Redbull fighting it out wing to wing.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.
