Sean, what makes you think any of them will wait for the next election? Costello would be just sitting on his hands waiting for an opportunity further down the track. Don’t think he realises just how unpopular he is.

The bloodletting usually follows defeat at an election. Costello's out of the game now so there will be a bi-election in his seat. I dont think Abbott has much chance because he's too accident prone.
I think Nelson's been put in to give Turnbull a bit of time to harden up because he's only new. The only thing Nelson's got going for him is that he has fantastic hair and if the ear ring comes back out then Labor had better brace itself for a collapse in its youth vote.
Dont trust Julie Bishop either . Her eyes are too close together.

I prefer Annabelle Crabbe's SMH take on "Dynasty" for real time virtual reality TV.

Julie as "Krystal" and Brendan as yet another soapie "companion" with somewhat chiseled features (now declining from his audition to a Joan Collins lookalike ALP casting couch some generations ago).

As Annabelle infers : Mr T say "tha biatch has tha keys to whatevana $$$ yo say" (in WA).

And reprising Dionne Warwicke's San Jose; "Do you have the keys($$$) to WA"

"an I so dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooahehoooooaaanahAH"

Julie Bishop seems a nasty piece of work.

It's being set up perfectly for Turnbull to make a later challenge which in all likelihood will be successful.

The other thing wrong with Turnbull is he's loaded, apparantly he's got more money than Rudd's wife.

I can't wait to see Brendan in action as the opposition leader. There hasn't been such a featherweight leading a major political party since.....? Can't recall anyone who could compete really.

Here's a completely unfounded prediction:
* Media builds him up, some nice profile pieces on the stylish new leader
* Brendan pricks a couple of holes in his own bubble through pomposity, ego & general incompetence
* Stories start to emerge about dissatisfaction within the party
* Leadership challengers - including the mad monk - start to declare their 'full support' for him
* Lib party leadership ballot declared, Nelson gets max 2 votes

The other wildcard of course is skeletons in the closet. There's gotta be a few for a bloke who's been married 3 times.

And she never blinks either. It's like she has stepped out of a set from the Stepford Wives.

Brendan is also a bit of an automaton. But he's too short to be a serious contender for the PM's job. The Libs should have made him taller when they were assembling the pieces.

I laughed when I saw Miranda Devine's column annointing Turnbull as the new 'raging bull' ie lib leader.

Cause 3 hours later Lord Nelson was announced as the man.

Yes. God knows what Miranda will write about now. No more freebie trips to Iraq under cover of the Green Zone for pet interviews with important US military. No more cosy Kirribilli House afternoon teas with Janette.

She'll just have to go back to irrational rants against environmentalists and feminism.

I'd tap it...

EDIT: I apologise, that must have frightened some of you... not even I'm that much of a sicko... really... I'm not.
