I wouldn’t be if you’d just told me they already tried it, instead of dismissing it as “the gheyest thing ever”Drailed wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 8:53 pmI am bro, you’re just mythering on about making my kids do nippers

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Fingal had the youngest club membership in Australia.
Cudgen Headland where I was a member had a pile of 8ft V Bottom Tracker style boards.
A lot of the earlier generation of Clubbies had surfed but all gave up when the boards dropped below 6’.
A few young guys used to borrow them including Ray Gleave.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Been out of the water for two weeks.
13 stitches in my back.
Low grade melanoma.
Came out yesterday so 2½ hours from first light today. Fuck I missed it.
Think I'm addicted to surfing.
Also, probably belongs in the Growing Old thread, some inflammation in my knee apparently due to osteoarthritis.
Oddly only hurts when walking not surfing even though it's my right leg which does all the work.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Well surfing often hides the pain. I've had numerous things that hurt later but not during, because of the single-minded focus required.
Glad you're ok, hopefully.

This is where compulsory national service is needed to instil the values of discipline, responsibility, humility, teamwork and service in the young people of today. Values they are not getting from home or from their devices.

Yes, we need to install a bit of militarism into our youth. Seems to work well everywhere else. Just look at Israel.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
You could argue that most European Countries have more of an existential need to have a well trained population. Rather than the tired old.....it would teach them some discipline argument. I can remember thinking about conscription when I was in High School. They only canned it about a year before I would have been called up. Fcuk that. If you want to join the army...great.
