Re: Where did you surf today ?
On days like this there's a left which forms on the Shelley Beach side of Moffat Headland. Not for the faint hearted but it was working today.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Bigger than this morning, out of the east. More tide but sketchy drops, heavy rips. Good sunday arvo fun.

200 guys out at Bondi this arvo. Light onshore wind. Didn’t look too bad but not worth the hassle.

I can understand 200 people heading out to surf Snapper, but Bondi, seriously.
You'd have though that there'd a been at least one girl surfing too.

Boom, boom. That’s right we aren’t allowed to call groups guys if there are women involved. Forgot that bit from work culture PC Classes. I’m sure it was very gender fluid
I actually counted 100 out on foamies up at Kiddies Corner on the north end. Then just looked down the beach and compared crowd size. It may be the most crowded I’ve ever seen the surf. Still reckon I would have snared a couple but with the sun low and shining in everyone’s eyes it would have been sketchy.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Classic conditions today. Left at Bondi looked good but the tide was getting too low. Ummed and Ahhed for a while since I packed an extra board. Decided to just hit the north end on the foamy but then got Jack of that after a couple and paddled down into the pack on the left. Managed to eventually snare a good one right through and called it quits.
Tama and Nth Bronte were bigger and really clean. Main bit of Bronte was wild. Rips everywhere.
I imagine Sandon would be going off.

Seriously, you’ve retired to that. That is it forever. I respect your patience. Eastern suburbs is pretty ok to live obviously but, respect re: dealing with that mess.Beanpole wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 7:59 amBoom, boom. Re: Where did you surf today ?
Big deal. Surf was good today. I love all the comments from people on here about their imagined retirement. I surf most days of the week. Super crowded Sunday Arvo isn’t usually part of that.

If you are happy with that decision. Who am I to try and convince you otherwise. Enjoy
But, “imagined” retirement isn’t hard to imagine when you know the place you’re retiring to.
Like I said it’s a pretty nice part of the world the Eastern Suburbs.
Parking can be tough, that’s all.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Sure. It was great to get up to The Superbank a few weeks ago. I guess surfing around here makes me a bit blasé about crowds.
I got the feeling that part of the thing with last Sunday was the end of the school holidays. It’s been relatively quiet the last couple of weeks. As I said I’ve never seen that many people surfing up the north corner. I counted 100. All on foamies.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I can;t believe we were in the same place yesty, Beans. Late Sunday arvo in the southern corner was wonderful. Nary a breath of wind, glassy as all get up. There were, maybe 10 of us sharing spankingly sweet right repeating bowls and as the sun sank behind the old Astra and the moon rose up over Buckley's, illuminated further from the Iceberg's lights, I was amongst a only a few young rippers egging one another on 'til dark. Best surf in yonks.

That’s beautiful Skip. One ofthe 200 in the water. Plenty of dead wood of course. So they let an old cnut like you get a few waves?

We both live in Bondi.
