So anyway it was an hour after low tide and I honestly thought there was enough water over the reef
But there wasn't
I dropped down the face, angled right and all was well. And then the board stopped and I went flying
End result the impact of the fin hitting the reef drove it right through the deck of the board busting the stringer in the process
The board is an 8'6" custom shaped by Grant Miller, I've dropped it off at Trigger to get repaired, but I'm anxious to know if she'll ever be the same again and whether I may be better off cutting my losses....
