Swingin Like the Naughties (and Board Report)
Heya guys, I thought it would be nice to share some custom stoke with you fellas!
Someone-a-rather was worried about posting too many photos of his boards on the forums and told me to wait if I want to put them up....So.....I did....but now the excitement is a little too hard to contain. Here are some pics of the strange beast in creation, a two face wonder of speed and hard carving lines, floats over flat spots and then does tight hooks in curvey lines...
This board became a necessity after putting on a few kilos, making my 6'0" Quadfather a bit harder to surf in junk and small surf. It still goes great as soon as the waves have a bit of push, but I really wanted a performance orientated semi-fish quad that can do the smaller weaker days, but also have the ability to take on decent surf if its better than expected.
So excited! Here she is....

Re: Swingin Like the Naughties
Yeeeew!
I had a go of another Swinger very similar by some dude up in Yamba, can't remember his name.... He kept saying he wanted more of everything...more speed, more paddle power....greedy man.
After him watching me surf, talking about the one I tried, and talking about the options for this one, we nailed it down to:
5'11" x 20 1/2" x 2 5/8", 18 1/2" after the stingers, subtle single to deep double, slight nose flip to drivey rocker, slightly different distribution of foam to the other Swinger to make sure its not too corky but still paddles well, McKee quad of course, slightly more rounded round-tail. I think her name is the (swing loooooww.....) Sweet Chariot.
Sooooo excited. I know its going to go even better for me than the other one I tried, which means eye watering speeeeeeeed!
Fong, I'm leaving the glassing up to Mark to decide. Thats his business, not mine. Something standard I'm guessing
Couple of more pics...(oops):

Re: Swingin Like the Naughties
I like the idea of the swinger, I dont use my qf in small fat junky surf cause thats not what I wanted it built for, so I use my semi fish thruster. But..................... if you could get a quad with mkee set up to go in that stuff, and that would like that sort of surf..... then stuff my semi fish. Now, if i have plenty of patience and start working on tracy, try one out if possible in something over 2 inches high, then Ive got half a chance. Stoked for ya mate and jealous.

Re: Swingin Like the Naughties
that may work for you but I found it too pivotty and unstable, with the quad, the pulled in curvey tailshape as well as the deep double thru fin area, I think it was too much...but thats just for me...I like em drivey so I can push hard, but it'll be interesting to hear ya thoughts once you've had it a while....also the b-flies didnt suit the board, already drivey enough, perhaps a smaller set but the b-flies work best on wider tailed boards...for me so far, from what testing I have done anyway....

Re: Swingin Like the Naughties
Have the board in my hands now. The statement "clever distribution of volume" keeps popping into mind as I try to get my head around how all the elements work together....

Re: Swingin Like the Naughties
MP, how does the Swinger vary from just a normal blended planshape? I.e. averaging the difference in the flyer and just making a smooth outline or have you found the flyer creates something else?
