And we can look forward to getting smashed by... couple of feet of NE windswell!
I was looking at the La Nina outlook from the BoM and they suggest one result is strengthened Trade winds in the Eastern pacific. It could be a bountiful summer of trade wind swells for Qld and N coast - but doesnt look like much for Sydney.

Just thought the last memorable surf I had was at Pt Plomer in October and that was only a fun beach break This would have to be one of the longest and dreariest rum of doldrum conditions in memory. Particularly south of the harbour.
Now if I can just sneak out of town for a quick session in the next few weeks

When I'm done I have a coupla projects of my own .... relax and surf more ..... I have been digging, jackhammering, constructing, fencing, building, concreting, paving, birckying, decking, cladding, drainaging, planting, painting, etc.ing for the past 5 years on weekends since the house was built and I'm nearly finished (and just about F'Ked!), I'm really looking forward to just having the lawns to mow .... so if your projects include surfing and beer ... I'm the man for the job ....ric_vidal wrote:Fine, rub it in with-a-Spoon.surfin39 wrote:... then got the lawns done and finally finished the new back deck ....
Tell someone who cares, Loh-bastard next you’ll be telling me you had a surf‘n’turf at the rissoles! Didn’t see knicknack malingering did you?surfin39 wrote:not only has this lack of surf been irritating the wet weekends have been holding up my landscaping projects ....

On another note ... I went surfing this morning .... I just couldn't stand it any longer ... I had to go
Alternate between paddle and swim. Generally if there is ABSOLUTELY nothingSAsurfa wrote:I agree with the others Butts, you are being too optimistic, and how do you guys keep fit during these massive flat spells, do you still go out for paddles or do you swim, run??
then swim, but if theres even a chance of something then out and paddle around
Need to do my swimming with flippers, get the legs ready for water shots

Butts, you are indeed overly optimistic - but not without provocation.
Over the next few days the trough over near New Caledonia is going track SE and squeeze up against a big high, creating a nice E fetch aimed directly at me! (and maybe Butts and a few others).
This will be pretty horrible for the Kayakers in the middle of the Tasman because it looks like they are gong to cop some strong headwinds and short seas for some time.
But the end result should be some rideable swell from the ENE round to ESE. From Thursday through to early next week we should get some half decent pulses. Nothing big - but definitely rideable
With trough-y conditions over sydney winds will be either calm or crap and may vary from one minute to the next.
Have been swimming and sand running as a result of daily dissapointment

No, it'll be a moderate southerly/SSEchristopher wrote:any chance of an early offshore wind or still conditions early tomorrow morning?
i am so desparate for a surf.
stupid winds say variable on swellnet, but SE on BOM and coastalwatch
help...
Friday could be fun-ish (well compared to what we've had lately anyway) and possibly a bigger swell for Sunday/Monday. I bloody well hope so cause that will be my first day off work in 22 days :?
