Re: car key safety?
Timana Tahu can be hired out to stand next to a vee-hickel for a length of time for very reasonable rates.

Re: Marvin Foster dead.
Sympathies to his family and friends : thats gunna leave painful hollow for a long time. I honestly hope that amongst all the eulogizing there might be some spark of recognition that the tacit approval or un-reporting of Hawaiian thuggery/criminal behaviour by the surf media might start to change. T...

Re: Shapers.
Yeah your totally right, we're living in a world of sterile models and it's true that out there now there's a model to suit everyone......but.. I'm talking about the human dimension of interacting with shapers. Not walking into some retail den and buying a piece of plastic off a rack but actually de...

Shapers.
I know some crew buy pop-outs or rackies but one of the true jewels of the surfing Life are hanging with surfboard shapers. I like 'em: humble, egotistical, crotchety, ill-humoured, funny as fcuk, paranoid, God-Delusional, demented, drunkards, inveterate gamblers and whorre-mongers, god-botherers an...

Re: Peter McCabe
rang Peter from a lychee farm in Yandina where I was picking fruit.
He was a pleasure to talk to and made me a sweet cobalt blue 6'9" pintail.
Snapped the thing at the Womb but it was a bootiful board.
Would have no hesitation ringing him for an Indo quiver.

Re: Internet, phones and crowds
Unfortunatly we have living in our area one of the internet forcasters (blow-in surf forcaster or BSF as we call him) who was only too happy to stop the Search comp due to it bringing crowds but then sells us out on the internet surf forcast, pictures and all. Car loads of bunnies th is this one of...

Re: Internet, phones and crowds
Memory is a funny thing. Over time it selects and distorts and after a certain passage of time it takes on the certainty of objective truth. Many look back on the 70's as a golden time but the follwing super8 movie paints a slightly different picture. The first thing you notice is that the surf is q...

Re: How BIG will Sydney be on Saturday????!
hahaha...yeah, my daughter finds it hilarious as well. actually what happened is the wave had a saddle between two peaks....as I came through the saddle I hit a wobble and over-balanced, which threw me up into the lip and as I tried to re-direct down the face I become one with the lip. Twas a great ...

Re: How BIG will Sydney be on Saturday????!
. What were your thoughts in picture 2. . Funnily enough, as I realised I was having my arse fed to me on a plate and later, swimming in with a snapped 800 dollar surfboard, a custom I'd waited 3 years to get my hands on I recalled a drinking and shooting session I had with an army captain in North...

Re: How BIG will Sydney be on Saturday????!
Disappointing. I was being a good bro and helping my brother who has bought the general store at South Golden Beach, which is right on the beach. Looking after a flotilla of children and hanging mostly on the beach, watching spectacular close-outs, whilst grabbing toddlers before they launched into ...

I heard it's been closing out in Sydney.
And Pete got chewed off by something big today.
Boy there were some big schools of mullet coming through the line-up.
Freaky.

Swell woulda been too S for Angas wouldn't it Nick. I thought you would be across the river. I didn't get out today .....I took a lunch-time bike ride along the Point and stopped to chew the fat with Brocky in the midday sun. Kenchy came by with his new lovely Balinese wife and we discussed a whole ...

Re: How BIG will Sydney be on Saturday????!
The reality is big swells equal waves out of the range of a lot of surfers and I reckon hyping it up just encourages delusional acts by novices.Great if your up to it but most aren't and I sure ain't these days either. Go for it if your up to it but actively discourage people from having a crack by...

they don't use wax in Vietnam.
They use a mixture of pho and virgin juices collected by specially trained blind people.
