ok, I've never ridden one so really it's just armchair observation and applying what little I know about board design and came to the conclusion that the tail being so broad would suit more drawn out turns, not something I would imagine me doing on a small beachie. I guess I see those as being the attributes for a fish board. I like riding the pod, keeps me off the mini mal as much as possible.

lol "ok to ride", if I worried about what people might think of my boards I'd never go to the beach.
My fishiest board is a 5'10 Al Merrick Pod, I guess it's 33 litres. Discontinued now, there is a variant called the pod mod of which the subtleties would be lost on me, no doubt.

I can only handle any surf comp footage in tiny doses, just never been interested. I'll watch youtube vids for inspiration from time to time but its pretty rare for me to get past 5 mins
