Re: Where did you surf today ?

Shit. I thought this thread was the last place on here where people still talked about surfing

Re: skateboarding ...

^^ Just realised she sold me my board last year at Basement. My son's skating journey has take n off in the last few months. A new skate park opened near us at Meadowbank and he's down there every chance he gets. I haven't seen him skate for a while but apparently he's way better than the last time...

Re: skateboarding ...

You have a 4ft ramp in your garden Ricky?? What Loof said. Pics? Yeah, my wife bought one off a company in Brookvale I think. I thought it was way over the top, but coming from a classical music background where parents fork out 10s of thousands for instruments it's not a big deal to her. It separa...

Re: skateboarding ...

None of the pro street skaters seem to bother with padding. At the start of January I took my son to a Thrasher mag/independent demo at Sydenham. They were pulling off crazy shit - no pads or helmets. They do know how to fall and run out of a trick though. It's pretty impressive to watch how they do...

Re: Ears

My wife often syringes her own ears, and quickly and painlessly get a couple of pea-sized lumps of wax out with no dramas. I've tried it a few times with little success - understandable given the ear canal's closed shut I've got a great hammer drill here. Just let me know what size hole you want an...

Re: Ears

Since posting I went to a specialist ear wax remover in bondi junction and it was a disappointment. It seems my right ear is so bad she couldnt suction it properly .she showed me a video of my ear canal and its completely shut. The left isn't much better. Looks like I need an ent specialist in the s...

Re: Ears

I've had this issue for years, and I think it's time I did something about it. My right ear is almost totally closed up, and my left not far behind. I've reached the point where anything that goes in (aqua ear, waxsol, etc) doesn't come out. Just got my ears syringed at the docs and they're still bl...

Re: skateboarding ...

Skaters are generally a better bunch of people than surfers. A lot more relaxed and communal. Oh definitely. And Zion Wright rips. Hopefully he was nailing some long grinds. Yeah Zion was doing these huge airs over a gap in a ramp, and pushing the length of the park to get the speed up. My son was ...

Re: skateboarding ...

My new skate journey continues. On Friday I took my son to a Real skateboard demo at Sydenham skate park (Ishod Wair, Kyle Walker and Zion Wright if that means anything to you). It was an interesting crowd: lots of beers, tatts and so much weed being smoked I nearly got passively stoned :-D-: (It oc...

Re: skateboarding ...

Took my son to warehouse 11 in Artarmon this morning. Really impressive setup. Doesn’t appear kids skate anymore, my son was the only skater, probs 30 kids on scooters. https://youtu.be/Z8Q-kwcuoJg I wasn't aware of that. I might check it out. My son broke his wrist a couple of weeks ago on the boa...

Re: skateboarding ...

I have found that middle age skating is a world of pain. I watched my son evolve from a 10 year old skate rat to now being a elder (at 21 lol) custodian of the Bondi bowl. He was always a big fan of the five dock park. And he reckoned the Macquarie Fields one was brilliant I tried to get him into s...

Re: skateboarding ...

Just took my son to his 2nd skate lesson, this time at Dulwich hill. Wow, what a set-up. I had a bad fall about a month ago where I landed on my tailbone. I've only just recovered and lost all my confidence :x Anyway, my boy's learning heaps and loving it, and it's a bit of much-needed quality time...

Re: skateboarding ...

80a is pretty soft and would be good for street, hotmix or rougher surfaces. but if you’re gonna skate bowls, particularly hard smooth concrete it might pay you to get a hard compound set also, like 98a or above. Have you been to five dock bowls before? No I haven't. Might need to work up to that
