Weird Boards and Short Arse Surf Stars
I was looking at the latest popular extreme design : seventies style twin fin fish. It makes me wonder how many average surfers get much value out of something like that in an average Sydney surf. Sure if it suits your style and the style of waves you ride; a fast small point or if you hate cutbacks...

Snaking and dropping in  You mean like the rest of the surfing population given half a chance. You should read some of the comments in the other forums :? . If its breaking hard and hollow no mercy for anyone. If its breaking easy and full: oh those horrible mal riders are catching all my wav...

Don't expect much respect if you don't give any. Here is another situation I have seen in the water. Old mal rider makes a point of paddling as far away from the pack as he possibly can. I am not talking here about just sitting a bit outside of everyone. I am talking about a long way further out in ...

That clears that up for me. I have never seen a D fin for a fin box. How much pressure would that put on the box? I've got an old reverse D fin I ripped off an old pig board I used to ride ten years ago. Never got around to putting it back in since the board is something of a write off with lifting ...

Proning out
I've been reading all the stuff the lid riders have been saying about how advanced they are and have concluded that everyone should start proning out :D Just imagine how deep you could get if you were lying down on your board 8) . Surely normal surfboards would perform better as bodyboards than body...

This all paints a pretty bad picture for the east coast. When you add these developments together its going to be one overdeveloped mess after another. We are all responsible if we don't try to do something about it. I don't even like going up to the Tweed Coast anymore. What a scam those very old l...

Its funny about the central coast. You can overlook the most obvious spots and hunt for waves without getting much for your search. As far as "secret" rights go up there; I have found saturday morning is very crowded and grumbly. When the pub has been open a few hours it mellows out a bit :D . I may...

Yeah, I have been wanting to see those for a while. The last newish movie I saw was Down Side Up, I think. Hot surfing but pretty repetative. The usual crew, some good Hawaiian footage. That Bonga Perkins movie was interesting too with some great footage but I find it hard to listen to testimonials ...
