Nth beaches - Wednesday on that sneaky south swell was really good with the winds offshore till lunchtime. Today still some swell around and enjoyable end to the week (really feels and looks like summer today).

South Manly, long flat spells then boom the bomb closeout set........very frustrating. The Bower looked big from where I was.

DY again today, angle of swell = closeouts,closeouts and backwash (where did that come from ?). And conditions are so good with the offshore wind.....

Surfing today at Dee Why, around midday, nor easter already blowing and look north.........5 or 6 hang gliders riding the up currents off Long Reef. A throwback to a time of Midget. Just had a nice feel to it.

And only 71 years old - remember being in the surf at NN in the 70s on the good days and we would be 'honoured' by a visit from Midget. Vale to a great surfer.

It's interesting that WSL is 'celebrating' this inclusion to the Olympics yet golf (the majors), tennis (grand slams), basketball (NBA) all seem to have other levels of world recognition. But I suppose this is what Kelly's wave pool is for - now do countries/regions need to build more wave pools for...

South coast near a island last week all on my own - very enjoyable but noticed the colder water. Today late afternoon at DY - not bad (and yes the crowds seem to be about after being thin for weeks).
