Needless to say I got some bizarre looks by others watching me trying to fit a 7ft 6 board in through the drivers door, over the steering wheel and into the passenger seat. smart thing wouldve been to unlock the back doors from the inside  Nah that's the bitch about the Holdens central lockin...

I always stick my car key on a string around my neck and tuck it into my wetsuit. The other weekend I had to use my wifes car which has a remote key lock buit into the key. Unlike my normal car which ahs the remote as separate. Not thinking I tied it round my neck went off to enjoy 2 and a half hour...

Autumn on the East Coast of Victoria has been really good.

Especially in April, the Westernport beaches had some nice and consistently big swells.

I have a 6ft 10 board in the garage with a super pointy nose. I haven't ridden it in 5 years because one day I nearly skewered some little kid with it. Decided at that point that I didn't want to hurt anyone else or myself. Needing a new board and one being a bit more user friendly I opted for an NS...

Afraid not. A sharks main feeding times are just before sunrise and just after sunset.

You're still a one in a million chance of even getting sized up for a meal by one of them anyway let alone getting bitten

I have no problems fitting my 7ft 6 board into my 1991 Commodore (VP) sedan so long as I fold down the front seat. With a station wagon you could fit a lot more in as well. Get one on LPG and you will save money on fuel too. Vans and the like you can take your pick but they are focused more on volum...

I thought timing chains never needed replacement, not like belts. At least that's what i heard buying my ancient BMW  Well they do wear out, but you get more kms out of them than a belt. p.s. let me guess the bee-mer is no longer going? snakes Yeah the belts are used because they are smoothe...

After originally raising this topic out of frustration I went and actually bought myself a cheap mini mal..Expoxy 7'6" for $350 (new)..made in China...but who cares...I saw Webber expoxies for $800 at the local surf shop....first session was on Saturday 30/4 @ Elouera and the surf was in the 5' - 6...

O i surf uk waters, cold, weak and full of turds, just what a growing boy needs. You should come down south to Gunnamatta on the Victorian East Coast if you come here for a holiday. You'll feel right at home there. A sewer outfall pipe sits 1km offshore, on a nice southerly breeze you can sme...

Always seemed to me that most long term surfers I know have managed to get themselves vehicles that permitted the insertion of the surfboard within the vehicle. Yeah I've noticed the same thing. I've never owned a car I couldn't fit my board into. But with petrol getting more expensive I'm the thin...

I got a Rip Curl 2x3 Ultimate recently (not the bomb range, the one before it) Fully sealed with the batwing and it is awesome. Combined with the boots I never get cold. I like the way it's shaped so that it makes it easier on your shoulders when you paddle too. Winter is the best time, not many cro...

Surfing is worth it. Every day I travel 60kms to work and back again just so I can live on the coast and enjoy what it offers (a decent wave within 20-30 minutes of driving) I'm married, regular job and all that crap, and can still get out most weekends to blow out the crud built up from working in ...

Over last summer on the mid tide they were pretty good. (I only surf on weekends due to work though so weekday surfers may disagree) Had a couple of great mornings in January with the left and right banks at the far carpark entrance working nicely with the rip in between to taxi out on. But the poll...

Hello everyone. First time posting and thought this was as good a thread as any. I'm based on the Mornington Peninsula. Regular breaks are usually Flinders and Pt Leo when the swell is good (which it has been lately) Used to surf all the time at Gunnamatta and Rye but the pollution and sore throats ...
