Well at least the waves look better - Owen opens with a 4.83 and Mick with a 5.33. Now a 7 from Mick and the little fist pump at the end of the wave.

Yeah, noticed the stairs ensemble of dark puffy jackets, caps and high fives (must be a Victorian thing)...........couldn't see one NC in there.

Well Mick's in the QF and JJF and Julian both gone. interesting write up on CW with the view that Mick can win this one (because someone has to).

It is Pablo selling the duck diving special...............cousin to Hose previously selling a board with a lanyard.

Manly this morning, very enjoyable after the low tide and no wind

Exhausted watching the Snapper cam this morning (did anyone get out and catch a wave) and then Currumbin tow ins.....now I know what I need for my next birthday.

Manly at mid morning....very very long waits for a 'set' and crowded.

And swell is gone where I was on the high tide......so now have to wait for the real autumn.

Meanwhile I am hiding down the south end of Manly on low tide (due to other duties)....on these days I apply my motto of knowing one's level of incomptenence

NBs a bit after high tide - not bad for first hour then the waves just disappeared.

John John is world champ (Medina knocked out in quarter finals). And agree, Pipeline is the place to have the final event of the year (even if the surf is not great there is an aura about the whole place - waves, crowds, close to the action for broadcast, history).

Same NB spot today and 20 guys out (yesterday there were max 5).

About an hour on my own on NB then the crowd of 3 found me. Geez it feels and looks like autumn.
