Re: Question for 40 somethings..
Interesting thing about stretching BEFORE exercise. I find I injure myself far more often if I do this, both in the gym and surf. I think NC mentioned in his book or somewhere on here his advice is to get overall body warmth before, and do stretches after. So ideally run or ride the pushy to the sur...

Re: Snapper - It's not paradise.
Human nature is a wonderful thing to behold. Take the road that feeds from from the Kawana canal community to the beach up here - day in day out the carpark and road is chock full and there are 40 people on the break straight out in front of where the beach access hits the sand. 100 metres to the le...

What you guys see in surfing shithole overcrowded places like that I'll never know. It could be the best waves at Snapper anyone's ever seen but at what juncture does someone say to themselves "you know what, the crowd is completely fcuking up my entire surfing stoke"? I mean is there ever a day whe...

Hey mate had similar thing ages ago. Make sure you are happy with physio advice first and foremost. See a proper sports physio /osteopath and make sure they really know their stuff. I found a good one and it made a massive difference to what they worked out was the problem and more importantly what ...

Grooter. I was a motoring journo for nearly a decade, you make some very astute observations. The worst car I drove was the Ford Mustang - imported from the good ole US of A and converted to right hand drive (circa 2001 from memory). It was an absolute shitbox. Worst handling of any car I have drive...

I watched the movie a while back and don't recall it being heavy on the religious side at all ... but yes it sucked, it was a real tryhard type of thing, odd to explain, you never knew if it was overacting, bad editing or just plain bad. Hats off to her for overcoming that trauma no matter what her ...

Well I've got a chubby. These pix of the new sleds arrived in my inbox this afternoon. To say I'm stoked is an understatement. Mark has taken about 300 emails I sent him and weaved them into magic. 5'9 x 21 3/4 x 3 Dumpling and 6'3 x 20 3/4 x 2 3/4 Quadfather. Hopefully have these in my hands in 2 w...

Re: Paradise Lost for Aussie Surfboard Makers Amid China Imp
I have no farking clue on the business of making a surfboard, but I'd imagine labour is the biggest component, then materials, then tooling costs and rent and admin etc etc. Therefore, the one thing that will not be able to be competitive with overseas, no matter how big the operation, is labour cos...

Biggest single issue I have these days is lungs.... my lungs just seem to have lost their elasticity. I can hold my breath when resting for a fair while - last time I checked was over 2 mins..... but any sort of exertion and it just feels like they aren't expanding. They expand and stop... dead stop...
