Re: "The Board Meeting" Corporate Surf Event
Just a bump for this thread to remind everyone to get down to the Kawana Surf Club from 12.30 this Saturday for the big surf gear auction. We have a heap of stuff coming in. So far there is a McTavish autographed superlightweight 9'3 longboard, a 7'2 Firewire (unsure of model), Mark Pridmore's super...

Re: "The Board Meeting" Corporate Surf Event
Hi guys and cheers to TrevG for starting the thread. I've been heavily involved in this event for 5 years now. We raise about $30K a year and every cent goes directly into the hands of local disabled kids' families. These kids are the ones who fall through the cracks of government funding. The money...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Hi guys, not much to report on the Powerball yet, I seem to keep missing good days and then get free of life in time to surf shite. (I didn't even bother with Noosa on this last swell, the crowds are just insane.) As usual with a new board the first couple of surfs were great, then I went through a ...

Hey Batoes is that board on the foldout couch where you been told to sleep spending money on new boards like that. Then again it'd be quiter than in the house with all those kids...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Tell me this isn't a Zot with an extra coupla fins. IT'S FAAARRRRKKKKIIIINNNGGGGG GORGEOUS!! "The Power Ball" PotBelly. 5'6 x 22 x 3 it has quite a bit more nose rocker than I was expecting, but I think this thing will go OK in a lot bigger waves than I was expecting. Wouldn't be too many around lik...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Cuttle is a total board slut, and I am doing my best to aspire to his greatness :-) Life's too short and your surfing years too limited not to keep changing things around and continually challenging your pre-conceptions and just getting new boards whenever you get enough coin or enough brownie point...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Trev the photos are set to be a max 800px wide, so it's the width not the "weight" of the pic. I understand the need to keep embedded images to a limit, but when they are at photobucket or whatever surely we could have them set wider (or even unlimited) coz the bandwith gets used from the image serv...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
'Twas actually a manager cuttle, and one I bought a new board off - I certainly don't expect him to remember my name even though I've introduced myself many times, and I did phone rather than walk in (ie he couldnt see my face), however if that's the standard line over the phone they still ain't doi...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Regarding demo Firewire, not on the Sunny Coast. I rang Beach Beat the other day to demo a Sweet Potato and was told that they don't demo boards, you pay $15 per hour (wtf?) or $35 half a day (holy wtf?!) to ride them and if you buy one they'll refund the difference. I tell you what, I must have bou...

Re: Surf Movie Night Sunshine Coast May 28
Cheers for the feedback guys. I'm heavily involved as a member of the committee and not only does it help raise money for these poor little buggers it is a good way for several generations of surfers to interact. Anything you can do to help spread the word and get more bums on seats there the better...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Does anyone have one of the really small Zots? Like 5'6? I don't know that I've heard anything about them in short, only longer versions....
