Re: Quiver thread
Cranky, I had a loan of one for 3 months....tried it with the original GF/the extended tip and the mid range ball bearing GF(which is a bigger version of the original) plus plenty of other singles I owned.it went ordinary in lots of different waves. A while later I bought a cheapy with wavegrinder f...

Re: Quiver thread
The two McCoy Zots have been working out really well for me since I had them converted to quads. My wave count has gone up significantly. The 6'8 works really well in head and a half and I see no reason it won't handle double. The 6'1 is easily duck divable and will probably work in the same wave r...

Re: Quiver thread
Looks beautiful toots, does the v stringer Have noticbly more flex than a conventional centre stringer Only before the glass goes on, noticeable flex comes with the carbon tail.WHOOSH, the speed and drive is truly TURBO! I haven't ridden or owned "the ultimate in flex" as Mitchell describes a V2 + ...

Don't believe everything you read! Don't like the mondo? I Like the look....but the one I had wasn't great....actually the other 11 ive had( still own 2) were better. The supermal is great fun from weaker Crescent waves to the grunt of Anga. Smartboards in beachies,Coral reefers for rock and coral(...

3 fins on beachies, 4 fins racing down the line[/quotequoteThe Mighty Sunbird wrote:Nick Carroll wrote:the board matters, the fins have to fit the board. Once you find a set that fits the board, the combo works in whatever surf you wanna ride it in.
Yes.I use that too....but in very weak waves I'll use a twin.

Re: Quiver thread
Just left it. Might get around to doing something: fill it with silicon? Just some smooth tape is probably the best option, then if ya wanta put a 5th fin in you can. And consider the resellability. Options for a 5th are a hatchet, its low area and doesn't produce too much drag. A few years ago KS us...

Re: Quiver thread
Putting the Quads on negates the tail width, no stringer fin to cause drag. rail to rail becomes just that.Cranked wrote:My zots have comparatively skinny little tails, guessing 16" or 16.5"

Re: Quiver thread
There's a new Gerry Lopez pintail gun at a local boardstore: 7'6 x 21" x 3.1", guessing the nose is around 12.5", tail 12" Rails are skinny, super sharp edge almost from the middle. Shallow concave in a V. Thick stringer, full gloss and spray. Should be an easy paddler and handle anything I might g...

Re: Wave Garden Cove
If the scaling up is achievable then WJW! Great place to train if you can't get to the ocean for whatever reason. I assume they'll have midweek pensioner concessions for Trev and I I'm wondering where G.webbers is upto? He was putting energy into a version. AS these things become accepted, there wi...

Re: Quiver thread
I'm assuming its Darren only because they look more like what he does, and a comment from Geoff that he doesnt have much to do with TSA. The first generation TSA nuggets looked like Geoff's shapes and the second gen nuggets and the zots looked like Darrens work. Don't have a clue about the zaps. I ...

Re: Quiver thread
Next up for me from Terry were two Cheyne Horan type round tail singles with hard panel V in the tail and boat like roll in the front, a 5'10 and 6'2, both for Sydney beachies Terry suggested a winged keel fin that you had been trialing but I went for Cheyne's Ben Lexen one. Both were great boards ...
