Re: Where did you surf today ?

Haven't worn it in the surf yet, I'm on the east coast for a few days.

It's not as flexible as a RC or O'Neill. Feels like a suit from about 2015.
But I haven't worn a 4/3 in 15 years.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Enjoying the temperature drop Groots?

Perhaps not as bad in the afternoon or in town, but it's dropped a lot up at the county line where I surf most often.

Not a bad way to go. Except for everyone on your boat.

can't afford anymore sunk costs.
Anymore implies additional.

The $360 you've spent are sunk costs.
Any more (not the adverb) costs are not yet sunk.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

You're talking about additional future expenditure, hence you haven't spent it yet.

I actually learned to love it.

But there's no way that 2/2 is as warm as a 3/2.

Conductive and convective cooling laws still apply.
Yes, but if there's less water in the insulator there's less efficient conduction.
Tell me more about the Isurus.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

2/2 with the Yamamoto 40 is supposedly as warm as a 3/2 because it's 98% water impermeable

You hated the Isurus didn't you?

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

The O'Neill is a mid to upper suit and doesn't use Yamamoto. It's something stupid like techno butter

The limestone suits are a middle ground.

Feral makes a 2/2 Yamamoto backzip long sleeve springy, but it's $220 USD and out of stock for a month.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

The 4/3 Buell arrived. Haven't tried it on but it's a lot less flexible than the 3/2 O'Neil, and probably twice as thick. Glued seams, fleece on the torso. It looks warm and functional, it doesn't look high end. I'll probably get a Yamamoto suit later in the season for comparison and because I hate ...

I feel fine with it- it's warm blue water and that mostly brings small whalers and lots of them.

Great viz.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

I decided to chance it on the Buell.
Got a 4/3 hooded for $220 (Seppo dollars).

Still keen to try a Feral, supposed to be tits, but they're out of stock until December.
The Cleanline shop suits also get good reviews.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It's getting cooler here, duckdives at dawn definitely wake you up. Mostly closeouts but a few that had some run. Tide was too full this morning for the 5'6" but I wanted a change and it was good to get a few pumps then eject out the top. Still one of the best feelings in surfing. Had the sunrise on...

Why aren't surfers scared of sharks?

I've never really been worried about them, but now I surf in places with seals I'm more circumspect about solo surfs.
