I've wanted for years to get another one and drop an SR20DET into it but time and $$$ are the limitin...

Yep next time Im in Halifax Im headin straight to the bar for an Alexander K. It's available right across Canada. Have regularly had it in pubs (like The Red Parrot?) in Vancouver. Can't get it in Oz though. It's now part of the Labat Group and they rate it a a boutique beer - not for sale outside ...

MAKING WAVES - The Ma & Pa Bendall Story
Here's a great story if you are interested in surfing history of the local type. Ma & Pa Bendall were local surfing icons in the 60's and 70's on the Sunshine Coast and the Caloundra City Council has helped fund a DVD of their story. The DVD includes revealing interviews with Bob McTavish who credit...

The question is, "Could you have gotten away with it?" If you had to wax it up, the answer is obviously, "No". If it's already waxed, then you're back to square one. Is it worth the friendship. How much did you need the surf. BTW. Trying to read between the lines here, "Did you?". Or is it possible ...

Anyone game to search for DG on Google Earth? If you do, you'll probably set off alarm bells at all the listening stations (that don't exist), there'll be a knock on your door in about 30 minutes and you'll never be heard from again. Nah, It's public domain stuff  "Facetious" = "Tongue in Chee...

[quote="Marine Jacket Spud Awful stuff indeed. As well as the Maldives, how about the Islands of Aloha? The national flag still obviously holds the Union Jack. Anyone got the true insight to The Brits passing over Hawaii to the US? Imagine that! You might have some Poms on the WCT if they had kept h...

Mentioned this a while back in some other thread. I stopped at DG in 06 on the military base there for a couple hours or so. The airport had photos around the walls of the island so I ran around and checked each of them out. Not a single wave to be seen in any of them. But considering the position ...

Hey buddy. Im now living on the west coast of canada and the water temperature is not that bad. To be honest, its no Northern Beaches where I used to live but you can get away with a 5mm steamer and no hood or booties. The surf sucks at this time of year but its always good to get wet... bman, are ...

Where is this place? Is it Shipsterns or someplace else? I'm guessing there's more boils and ledges than in any Shipsterns pics I've seen before but, maybe it's super low tide. Or is it a "Secret Spot". If so let's publish its location. After all with a wave like that it'll soon take care of any bl...

The other question is how much overhang front or rear? Good point, this. I've watched my board flex alarmingly as semis go past in the other direction. Took to doing a couple of things. 1/ Mount the board(s) on the LHS. 2/ Move them back as far as possible. I like to be just able to see the nose fr...
