Re: Where I have been
It’s great to hear from you, Digger. So, your back is not great? How are the kids going? Back is forever fu%^&d foamy. I take it easy, lift nothing, and when ever I get a twinge I go into a like mini breakdown and stay in bed for a few days. Its the fear of breaking down again as I could not get th...

Re: Where I have been
Yeah mate. The festival was good. Just had the QLD State Titles for everything from boogers to SUPs, shortboards and Longboards. Did you go in it trev. I would have just to have scored first point even if I did not progress, which I would not have, though imagine first point in a decent swell and j...

Re: Where I have been
Im planning on making river tables, lazy susan's, coffee tables, and so on. I made a hot box with a old fridge. a iv strip light, thermostat. Its bloody brillant. would be a awesome hot box for boards if you could find a fridge at the tip thats big enough. Anyways, I probably wont be back to the sit...

Where I have been
I finally make the move to Tasmania and have now settled in after two years. Surfing for me has stopped, therefore the desire to shape has stopped as well. I made a shaping bay but found it just created a hole that I could not deal with. So I will not buy a blank again, nor will I surf due to my inj...

Re: Pinched nerves?
Just over a year ago I had an operation on my L3,4,5 with bad damage to my nerve running down my left leg. I was out of the water for over a year before the op due to pain and inability to walk without the aid of a walking stick. I recovered from the op and have been getting close to getting back in...

Re: Belly boards
Trying to chase up some eps in tassie. Not a easy thing to do. You really can take for granted the ease of getting blanks and the cheaper cost of it on the mainland. Cost in tassie is nuts. It might be cheaper to fly a mate out with some blanks than get em here. Will keep searching

Re: Core industries blanks
There’s a mob in Hobart who are suppliers for them. It’s only a 5 hour drive there to get some blanks, resin and glass. I might not have any other options

Re: Waves you've seen but never ridden.
Saw on wave on the nullabour plains each time I travelled across. Looked about five or so feet and peeling forever. It was a good 2 km down a steep hill to get to it and it’s always left me wondering if it is ever surfed. Somehow I doubt it very much. If only I was younger and just travelling across...

Re: Belly boards
I think midget red blanks for there density seem to be the go maybe.. I’m now turning my research to cant for the side bites and will be low rails but not sure yet on the length of the edge on rails to yet. I’ve got plenty of time to try to figure it out.

Re: Belly boards
Been reading and researching. I just can’t resist making a few bonzers. 3 fin only though, 4 inch centre and small custom triangle side bites. I’m not sure if I will ever get in the water again as the fear of hurting my back again is very debilitating and I do live in real fear of lifting any heavy ...

Re: Belly board
Hey beer fan, I’m not sure mate. I’m tossing up wether to get a surblank or a midget red blank. I like the density of the red blank, will need a six three to get a 5 foot belly that I’m after. My sims will be 18 tail, 16 blunt nose, around 22 wide. 2 inch at nose and 1 inch at tail. Not sure where c...

Re: Strahan tassie
Loving life in Queenstown. Not going to worry bout hearing till next summer as pulling walls down, replacing rotten weatherboards, fixing up shed for shaping. For heating it’s gonna be a heat pump. Will get a wood fire much later. I’m going to build a pizza oven in backyard during winter. Can’t add ...

Re: Strahan tassie
Think I will just have to pick my days for surfing Indo. We have settled on house and have now moved into Queenstown. We like it here, it’s quiet, isolated, and peaceful. Yes it’s cold but that’s okay. I know have to sort out power to my back sheds and watertight them. They will make great shaping a...
