Bees are considered fish under Californian environmental law.
Didn't some scientist do a study where he found that fish don't actually exist ?

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I did something similar a few years back, straight out the front here ... the waves were huge, but looked makable if you could get out, so I walked about 2km down the beach to negate the sweep. After an eternity of paddling and getting hammered, I ended up where I'd walked from and was still only ab...

If a banana produces too many suckers, this negatively affects production of the fruit and makes management difficult.
Banana suckers might have a different connotation around Bondi.

And to think I though a swell period was the duration of time that a morning horn lasted ... without the involvement of outside forces, that is.

Re: Watch recommendations

Only the lateral components. If you go top to bottom ala Occy you may travel 10m on the bottom turn and reentry on the wave surface but only move laterally about 3m, being a combination of along the wave and towards the beach. Okay ... so distance travelled horizontally and vertically, that's proba...

SOG=Speed over ground?
In that case, no, I don't think so.
I'm perplexed ... isn't that what's required to gauge ones speed on a wave ?

Re: Watch recommendations

That's how I know I'm traveling quickly. I'm probably out of date on the equipment costs but I think vertical accuracy is more important than horizontal for surfing, and I don't know of a good way to measure that without RTK GPS or UAV lidar. If you do, I'm all ears and happy to learn, it'd be usef...

Re: Watch recommendations

The GPS data from your watch is useless. You need about $10k worth of fairly heavy equipment to get anything reliable. The watch data might be a bit dodgy, but you definitely don't need to spend 10K on fairly heavy equipment to receive accurate GPS data ... unless you've managed to go back in time ...

Re: Watch recommendations

Plus I can watch my waves when I get home! https://www.surfline.com/sessions/clips/623ae1b2f02ba0f69a044901 Whats the fastest wave speed you've recorded, Jimmy ? As I mentioned earlier, I don't turn the surfing function on, but did for a few surfs when I first purchased the watch. One of the earlie...
