the asp has lost the plot, breakaway tour anyone??
If they think this is the future of competetive surfing they must be drunk. There are plenty of local boardriders comps that put on a better show in better waves than this farce.

Re: Never been barrelled
To get barreled you definately have to change your approach to a wave. If you are not finding barrels, when there is one, chances are, you are racing away from it. If you are constantly pumping down the line you will probably miss out on most of the action, chances are your comfort zone is out on th...

Nick, Thankyou for your response to my initial question.
I have more.
Is it possible to be a devoted father to a young family and also persue to its fullest, such a selfish and obsessive pastime as surfing?
cheers.

Re: Finless.Derek hynd, ridiculous!!!!!
i can not recall ever seeing anyone ever do a manouver at absolute full speed like that before!
He must feel like hes fcuking flying
Its a shame the 360 is the only option.
also not being able to sit a bit higher in the barrel seems to be an issue.
but that is serious speed.

Re: EPS blanks
I kept my dimensions the same for my first eps, and it felt like too much board, I have since gone 1/8 inch narrower and 1 inch shorter with the same thickness, and pulled the tail in a bit. I feel like I nailed it.

surfing that G-land place was pretty a pretty humbling experience. sure I got some barrels but every time I surfed it was a completely different wave, A wave to devote your life to, if it wasnt so damn busy!

Re: mentawais board options... opinions wanted
ppaattoo, The options that you have suggested seem spot on. I spent about 4months in the ments in 2002 and rode my standard shorty most of the time, sure you want something to get you into the bigger days, and a back up board which sits somewhere in between those two is pretty sound logic. If your i...

I also am on my third oniell in a row, they seem to fit me the best, which is a big part of why i get them. Those rip curls are just too tight around the shoulders and neck for me. Psycho 2 is a great suit if you can get a good price
