Tasmania Surf road trip - advice

Hey everyone,
Ill be booking a trip to Tassie soon to do a road trip in a campervan and lots of surfing.
Just wondering if anyone has done this before? If so any advice on a good route to take.
Ill only be looking at spending around 2 weeks, maybe less.

Performance longboards - Questions? Shapers?

Hey everyone, I'm 24 and have surfed since the age of 6. I always rode shortboards but in the last few months have really been getting into longboarding. I currently ride a Midget Farrelly 9ft and is 3' thick. I'm wanting to get a new longboard but thanks to my lack of longboard knowledge, want to a...

Re: moving north from south coast. where to go?

I grew up in creso so im a bit biast. Creso - small town, right hand point break. it gets crowded with touros but has heaps of break hidden on the back-roads...some only locals know about that crank just as good. Kempsey is the closest biggest town follow by Port Macqaurie. Scotts head - Brilliant s...

South Coast camping

Hey All,

Thinking of getting out of Sydney for the long weekend in June.
Can anyone recommend a nice place on the South Coast, no more than 4 hrs drive away from Syd that has good camping facilities and ideally a nice right hander?

Cheers,
Jk

Re: Curly this morning - Heavy wipeout

The way he was lifted up in the lip and fell down with the lip looked a bit like the fall from Richie on the movie. I didnt say 6-8ft wipeouts did i. I was saying the wipeout looked like the one off the movie but smaller scale.

Was out @ Curl at 6am this morning in the southern corner. There was around 10 guys out a few getting slotted... I seen this one guy paddle into a set wave would have been an easy 4ft...the lip just picked him up and he went with the lip and was thrown about 2m in front of the wave...didnt see him c...

Re: Why do people dry surfboards?

I admit I am a board dryer.
BUT I dont have a board cover so the only reason I wipe it down is so water doesnt drip in the car and give it the wet smell.

Manly this morning

Hey everyone,

Had an early session @ Manly this morning.
Did anyone else have an extremly hard paddle out. I watched the 1st two guys get swept about 300m down the beach before they managed to get out.

Seemed a lot bigger than it looked in some spots.

Re: Body surfing Queensy bombie!!??

I watched the bombie for about an hour off the headland. I didnt see any bodysurfers but did see the surfers and paddle boarders. The surfers didnt get muct at all. Waves were moving too fast for them to paddle into...plus wind would have been a big factor out there. The Paddle boarders then came ac...

Hey Everyone, Just need to vent. Bought a new Hayden Shapes Fibreflex on the weekend. 6,6. Ive practically been riding a fish for the last 2 years in all kinds of surf, anything from 2ft up to 6-8ft. Riding this new board in the swell over the weekend has opened up doors and im loving it. The speed ...

Re: Road trip advice - places to avoid!

Can I just say a few things. I grew up around Creso on the east coast. I now live in Sydney. Obviously customer service is more laid back and they arent trying to win everyones business because they can rely on locals. Its more of a country style customer service, no bullshit. Coffee - I am a big co...
