Re: Gary McNeill
Tis true.
Especially with the right fin combos.
Run mine with CI twins and Indo controller rears for sub 4'.
4' plus use switchblade quad set.
After 5' I'm picking something else.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
The answer is quite easy to this choice of rider. Think of McCoy's target demographic! He's not trying to sell boards to guys with aspirations of surfing stardom rather guys who are disgruntled with the hpsbs that have given them frustration in their surfs as their wave count dwindles as their teeth...

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over
I've had 2 and they were both really good paddlers. My first one (6'3") I bought off gumtree in surfed once condition and was too much foam when I was 92-95 kgs. However it was a great wave catcher and still surfed well but once I jumped on my much lower volumed cv2 I really felt the extra foam when...

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over
I've got the 5'10" mlv that I could be putting up for sale so don't buy a new one before letting me know.
Can't get off my DVS wasp long enough to give the mlv another go to see whether I want to keep it or not.

Re: Guns.
I've got the 8'er of that Modern blackhawk.
Only ridden it once but had a great time on it.
Paddled in early and really smooth to surf.
Al Merrick shape.

Re: Gary McNeill
Knee going well, kind of thinking tax time I might get a semi fish type board, for chest high to a little overhead. It sounds as if the cv2 might be faster than the tt. What do you guys who have both think?. I have a 5'4" sweet potato style for surfing tiny gutless waves, wanting something still fo...

Re: Gary McNeill
Strange but if you're after a McNeill used in 5'8" there are always some available for sale on gumtree and Ebay.
What's with this 5'8" number because obviously it just can't be right because they are the majority of ones being sold?
I like the pattern on the 5'7".

Re: Quiver thread
I've surfed the Outer islands enough to know its a really good board for a wide range of conditions. That's why I left it at JaM71's. Cover the bases conditions wise. Can't go wrong with one of them. If I was ordering one I'd buy one in a 6'2-4". The 6'8" is a cruisey ride but if it was shorter woul...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
They are pu blanks glassed with epoxy resin.Freshiedude wrote:Hey Cuttie
Have you seen or heard of Gary's boards being made in Epoxy? Apparently they can be ordered. Might be a tad stronger.
You mean with eps instead of pu?
I'm pretty happy with the strength of the cv2's as they are.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
I believe the brothers who were behind that tech are the go to guys for epoxy glassing on the Goldie.
Their operation is right across from Gary McNeills.
I was told they glass Gaz's boards.
All secondhand info.

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over
How you find the Outer Island Smart board? Mine is a wide than normal model smartboard dimensions. Wider nosed so it paddles reall well in the flats and catches waves easily. Still handles a steepish drop if I angle in and its got the Outer island speed thats a characteristic of the deep concave bo...
