Ordered my CV2 today.
Old guys (buggered shoulder/arthritic neck) dimensions.
6'6" x 21&1/2" x 3".
Not in the least bit concerned about corkiness. Gary is a maestro of foam distribution.
Should be done early January.

Re: Midlengths
Cranked, A mate of mine I surf with quite often acquired the same takayama surftech 7'10". Reckons its magic. Saw 2 different ones for sale recently which is rare. Me, I am loving my cv2. After surfing it in really good point waves this last week the board has gone to "keeper" status. My vquad 7'6" ...

JaM71 is going to shapers today. Will sms him and get him to find out. You need fcs or futures bases?Beerfan wrote:Does anyone know if they make the shapers DVS quads anymore? Keep looking but every where's out of stock.

Re: Gary McNeill
A rare set that are full carbon fibre. Gtf-1. Google them. Thats because the waves were a decent size. Normally I would run a set of AMTs. My Cv2 has fcs plugs. In futures I've got the AMTs, Scarfinis and the Aipas to choose from and team them with sb1 for rears. Need to get a set of the DVS sharkto...

Re: Gary McNeill
A must try fin combo for your CV2 if you're a big unit.
Twin fins in the front and DVS shark tooth side bites in the rears.
If you don't have the DVS fins then sb1 sidebites.
Twinnie drive and still loose in the tail with control.

Re: Midlengths
I think I'll be wondering the same thing when I try to surf it. I mean its 19&3/4" wide and 3" thick with a 12" nose and 16&1/2" tail and packing 45 litres of foam. JaM71 has it at his place and reckons its the ugliest thing he's ever seen.
He may get a laugh out of me wrestling it around though.

Re: Midlengths
I had a 6' one, fun board. The best surfs I had on it were in bigger sloping waves. Stick a big fin in it. I took it out today in absolute crap 1' surf, no one out at first. I had a 9'2 mal with me and that seemed the correct choice, but you know how it is, you always take out the new board. So I d...

Mark, I don't have an 8'er. I asked Gary what's the longest sizes he does the cv2 in and he replied: 8'10".Beerfan wrote:Drailed wrote:Love to hear how that goes Cuttlefish...
Any chance of some pics of your 8'er? What's the go with it?

Re: Midlengths
Just scored myself a midlength McNeill CV2 from Gumtree. You've probably all seen it, Was on there for months. Had it sent up. It was made for a older longboarder in SA who decided it didn't have quite enough foam for him. It's 7'2" X 22&1/2 x 3&1/4". It could have too much foam even for me...and th...

Well, I have to take the blame for that sale.Drailed wrote:Maybe he saw it on sale or something, impulsive.
Told him about how much I was enjoying my Lost round nosed fish.
He tried one and it's bye bye Banksy.

Congratulations anyways.
The older ones eventually get old enough to help with the little ones.

Plus a little extra for volan.tootr wrote:bear in mind a gloss/polish adds approx. $100 to a board, the buyer got a great deal if indeed the board was in near new cond.
That 6'8" egg looks very, very nice too.

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over
Yep the teen at the till had no "midlength" love, god bless his little spotty self! This was also before the Deus crew, Knost etc discovered bonzers, ye ha. A pox on the hipsters for pushing the price of the weird and unorthodox through the roof. Before those bastards were plastering their every mo...

Re: Midlengths
I reckon if you're a big unit the tuflite construction may be more suitable as you'll be riding boards that aren't all that thick and your weight and power can negate some of the corkiness and chatter issues that lighter guys complain about.

Re: Midlengths
The Diverse and the Legend Point Rooster (yellow 8'er) are both excellent boards in tip top condition well worth the money at Mctavish's. Should anyone be looking for a good value midlength. The glassing on my Diverse was absolutely first rate. Still looked like the deck was new when I sold mine. Fe...

Re: Midlengths
I'm totally over hi volumes boards. I really liked McCoys so I thought I would try a few other hi volumes designs, so this year I tried 2 Walden mini mega magics (6'9 and 8') and the Advance 6'8: they were all really, really bad to ride, just could not set a rail. One man's dog is another's magic c...
