Re: surfboard agency boards
Hi Cranked.. thanks for posting all this info about the Xf nuggs. I have had many McCoys and made the leap to one of these after reading your posts and Cuttles review (he is a friend and we have simular board tastes..). Just got a 6'8" Xf (old style), I am 47yrs, 95Kg, with a buggered left shoulder....

Re: new short board for big...old...guy...
Hi Pete - love the look of your beach beat. I was very interested to hear of your fin experiments. My board arrived this week but only a week old so just looking at it...its 6'8" x 22 1/2 X 2 7/8 - inspired by the rusty dwart and lost RV - so fairy flat rocker and lots of volume - but with double hi...

Re: new short board for big...old...guy...

So after several costly mistakes I have settled on a minimum size that keeps ...

Re: new short board for big...old...guy...
Thanks guys...I think my 2-5 ft was my third stubbie talking last night... I have a couple of boards I pull out when it is 4 ft and above (ie well overhead) - including a very solid a 7'2 gunned up McCoy nugget that never lets me down. So the seach is more for a board that can handle 2 - 4 , and esp...

new short board for big...old...guy...
Yes that old chestnut... I have been on the beefy short board quest for many years and have tried most of the genre. 47 and 95KG, average old bugger surfer, finding I need some paddle help but dont want to go to long in board length. Just sold a McCoy Nugget 6'10" which gave me many years of service...

Pete...I have seen you rave about some boards...but your enthusiastic words about the scorpion make me think it must be something special. I have a copy of a lost couch potato being made at the moment when it arrives we must hook up again and have a swap. Pls keep us up to date about the zot...plann...

Re: getting old, dont want struggle on a shorty
Inspiring to hear guys over 60 still getting out... once I turned 40ish I noticed a loss in strength and speed. My solution to this was three fold: increasing volume on my boards (my 'shorty' is now 6'10x22"x3"); took up yoga...have been going to two classes a week for nearly five years; and general...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
Very keen to hear how you find the zot cuttle. I gave my 6"8 a really good go; it was my main board for over a year. While I really enjoyed the experience I found it a bit limiting as an all rounder; but maybe I went a few inches more than I needed. I am currently getting a zot inspired 6'4 but quad...

Wow slowman That is an insane photo. By the end of the week we were used to surfing in about two feet of water with the odd dry spot. Had a couple of greatsessions but as you say the highligh was the place and people. As you say paradise. Iman is a great guide and we loved the place. We also spent a...

Re: Panaitan Island Tours
Just got back from here - the surf panaitan tour guys were great, fantastic people, great surf guide, very professional operation and great value. No crowds , only one boat just dreaming, we ran into them a few times but no big deal. Worst issue is the reefs , this place is as shallow and sharp as I...

Re: Gibber's compsand build thread.
Thanks for the info Tiger - if you are effectivly making your own blanks - this style of construction has an inherant versitility. Very interseting for guys like me who like unusual shapes. I will be following with interest. Cheers OG
