Re: Just general surfing stuff

I don’t think being friendly to strangers is considered a particularly desirable trait in Russian culture. Friendliness is for friends. I worked with a group of around 10 for almost 10 years. One on my immediate team, the others in an adjacent group. The rest of my team were friendly with each othe...

Russians are very friendly once you get to know them.
I've never met a friendly one and I've known some pretty well. They are incredibly insular and unwelcoming.

FMD, non-surfing tourism just weirds me the fcuk out.

All those people just aimlessly lollygagging- how do you do that?
It's super weird that everyone isn't a surfer and shares the exact same perspective as you

Re: Just general surfing stuff

 He has had a colourful life. The winch broke when he was underground and he and a couple of colleagues had to climb several hundred metres up a wet, vertical metal ladder. He was in a car crash in Africa while working. The driver fell asleep and they went down an embankment and ended in water....

Re: Just general surfing stuff

My old man was hit by a boat many years ago while snorkeling for crabs. He had an impact injury from the leading edge that caused a giant crater in his leg but didn't break the skin. He was lucky not to drown

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I'm a Qantas lounge member and only fly them or partners if possible (for the points). Their lounges that I've been to are pretty average though.

Cheers BA I will.

I did have a Hungry Jacks burger. It was pretty gross.
There's far better options there.
Nah, it’s what you have to do at the airport.
If I needed a burger I would have tried Betty's. But there seems to be plenty of other options as Womble says.
