Re: Maldives surf trip...

And of course, Indonesia has an absolutely wonderful human rights record, hey. What godsave's mate said about Pasta is pretty much true. I haven't been to Lohi's. Lets face it as a whitey surfing in a 3rd world country, ethical compromises will be made. The trade off? Perfect (and at Pasta Point) un...

Re: What's your go to board right now?

I have gone back to the MR twin. 6'6 1980 shape. I get more waves and have more fun. I think my teenage surfing has hard wired me to these boards. Can't wait to get it out at Sultans.

Re: Pain in the NECK

I had neck pain for years and got the works, sports medicine doc Physio chiro MRI pan forte etc.
all these things cost me a lot of money and resulted in feeling slightly better.
Then my wife showed me simple neck stretches for before and after a surf.
Pain free ever since.

Re: Magnesium ... good for ya health?

An observational case study of one is indeed the weakest form of science.
So if you can find me about 400 middle aged guys with a twitchy eye, we can commence our placebo controlled randomised trial.
And if we find a few thousand more, boo can do the meta analysis.

Re: Magnesium ... good for ya health?

Mg is particularly helpful for the muscle cramps associated with heroin withdrawal.

Recently due to poor sleep habits I had developed a twitchy eye. Most annoying to me, and made me look even more shifty than usual.

Three days of magnesium. Solved.

Re: Bong in big trouble

A couple of years ago on one of these US expeditions my wife seems so keen on, we wandered into the jaws of South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California. There are a lot of stores in South Coast Plaza and all of them are carefully, sorta quite ruthlessly, targeted at the type of person most likely t...

Re: Storm Surfers 3D

I think the old way (weather map on the news the night before, maybe knowing the wind direction) made the mornings more exciting: you didn't know what you would be surfing until you got there, and always went out regardless.
I think I might ban myself from the webcams for a while

Josh, without taking away from anything Otts said (except perhaps the applauding), I think that your support could also be called 'enabling by inaction'. If I had a friend smoking that much pot, I'd probably report them myself. What a strange statement. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you saying t...

Re: Breath Holding

A surfer who is also an anaesthetist told me he tested himself with an oximeter. At one minute of breath holding he felt like his lungs were bursting: but the oxygen saturation in his blood was still 95%. I guess CO2 accumulation makes you want to breathe. But you are safe. So yeah, its about relaxi...

Re: Maldives surf trip...

IMG_2482small.jpg There. I’m calling this day 10 foot on the sets. Cue the can of worms. I say don’t trust magicseaweed.com. On this day it was telling me Past Point was ONE POINT FIVE FOOT….. Ric I know what you mean about the wind, it really got into it toward the end. But Sultans stayed pristine...

Re: Maldives surf trip...

Heaven on a stick.
Beautiful waves every day, from 2-10 foot the time I was there.
Boat action gets pretty heavy from mid morning, I recommend you hit the early.
