I've done it in a dodgy boat out of Lubuan Lombok and in a car and they were both amazing adventures. You miss so much when you fly, but on the flipside you get more time in the water. Backbeaches, in my humble opinion, are the ones that are off/cross shore in a seabreeze. They're those little last resort spots when the arvo seabreeze springs up.

Ironical is a word. Check your MacQuarie - it's an alternative form of "ironic". So Tracks were right and you were wrong. How ironical!
