Re: your last surf for a good while
My last surf for three months went down on Sunday 17th of July between 3:30 and dark. It was 2-4 foot, weird, peaky lurchy shore break style waves in Sydneys east . I got a tonne of fun little lefts and basically surfed myself into the ground. Exiting the water in the dark it felt like a good little...

Rola Racks http://www.rola.com.au/ . They are pretty robust and don't look as chunky as other roof racks.

That clip now has a particularly prescient and haunting quality about it. I didn't know AI; but like other people on these forums I've felt rattled by his unti...

Looks like the story has been pulled from Stab's site. I guess it doesn't fit with Volcoms whole "youth against establishment" schtick / or Stab are trying to avoid marginalising more advertisers.Stab mentioned it as did waves online

Yep it's definitely a slightly juvenile moniker. It's not linked to Cheech - although NZ has a proud glorious tradition of fruitless iron lung mull abuse.steve shearer wrote:What does Cheech think of it?

Re: Australia vs. USA Culture
This post has dragged me out of a long hiatus from occasionally contributing to the real surf forums. My take on Australia is that yes it can have race issues but so do a lot of countries. As a long term blowin < insert sheep fornication slu r> I think Australia is typically a fairly welcoming open ...

Re: BOARDS TO NEW ZEALAND
I never have any problems when I head back to NZ and I normally take at least 2 boards. I did get stung by crapstar at Christmas for being over my luggage allowance but it was to do with total baggage weight - not my boards per se. If you fly with Qantas or Air NZ you should be fine.

Re: Best Mentawais Surf Charters
A good skipper will take you to the best uncrowded spot on the day, depending on conditions. I totally agree. A good skipper who surfs will make or break your trip. I had a trip on the mv sarayna in 2007 and we got dudded with the skipper. They penny pinched and switched skippers last minute and we...

This is seriously farked. I hope the kid is ok. I don't know how we stop chaos like this happening more apart from physical violence & or threat of. There must be some way to regulate the kooks to stop incidents like this happening.

Re: Thoughts on a Macaronis Resort trip.
You would get some good but occasionally crowded waves at the macaronis resort. By staying there you be bound to score it without tonnes of guys in between boats. However the one thing that would stop me is that Macaronis is situated in a shallow malarial bay and the camp isn't very high above sea l...

Re: Ments Boat Trip Advice
I would avoid the MV Saranya. I went on it with a few mates in 2007. The boat itself was ok, the staff were great but we got screwed with the skipper on the boat. We were meant to have a skipper who surfed instead we had a grumpy, sweaty rotund non surfing pom cnut who saw owning part of a charter b...
