this wasn't a bad wipeout but amusing. A reasonably big day at Manly (OH). A biggish set comes I can see its just gonna close out so I just sat there casually thinking its gonna pass under me. Way too casual I got sucked backwards over the falls still sitting on my board! My worst was at Outer Kom i...

I don't condone it but I can totally understand why that dude burnt the flag - don't you guys remember that day - hundreds of idiotic racists chanting 'f##k the ethnic slur goes here' and waving Aussie flags around. It reminds me of the UK where the St Georges cross has been hijacked and has become ...

what i reckon was worse is that some of the diggers threatened to spit, egg and beat the crap out of him if he was at the ANZAC parade. That is just as stoopid as flag burning if you ask me.

Nick-w he is not going ot be carrying the flag any more cos of what I wrote above

whatever salty dog, I just wanted to make sure. I started surfing real late so have not grown up with the whole surf culture thing.

but whatever, my point is what she has done should be enough to earn some respect, especially if you are as clued up as you claim.

in Seff Africa there are also not many black guys who surf - MUCH more to do with the cost of boards and cultural suspicion of water than lack of ability. I do remember reading about one guy who was learning to surf - AND HE COULDN'T SWIM!!! In Cape Town there are loads of of mixed race guys...

yank I watched a very interesting program on ABC about the genetics of so called 'race'. It showed that there was just as much genetic variation within what we call a race as between races. Also that the amount of genetic variation between races is astonishingly small. One statistic quoted was that ...

mate there's knuckle draggers everywhere! Surfer are a wierd bunch though - on the one hand there is this 'in tune with nature, dope smoking, couldn't give a stuff vibe'. Then there is the massively aggro, 'I own the waves' attitude. Though I guess most of us are moderate and fall somewhere in betwe...

He was staying in a shared house that had a pretty wierd tradition - whenever somebody left they would hide a turd somewhere for the rest of them to find - eg. put one under the floorboards, under the sofa etc. So one of the house mates leaves and for week...
