Re: Indo...is it worth it
Just got back from Bali. Had fun uncrowded waves up to triple overhead. You just gotta go to the right spots. A few tips: Kuta - absolute sh!t hole of a place. Just horrible. Avoid Legian - as above Seminyak - as above Cangu - absolute circus over run by hipsters. Line up clogged by kooks on alterna...

Re: post your modern day sickness
The Mermaid and Pyzel are two very different beasts. The mermaid is much more lifty and has much more feeling of true acceleration. The Pyzel has a far more neutral feeling to it. The mermaid is more snappy with a sharper turning radius. Then again it is also 3 inches shorter and 1 inch wider. Overa...

Re: Volume
Im 73Kg. My magic boards are anywhere from 23L to 25L depending on board weight and other variables. As an example an EPS/ Epoxy board would be more around 23L. A standard HPS more around 24.5L. Most of the online calculators have me much higher than this. Mind you I look at many other aspects of a ...

Re: post your modern day sickness
update on the Pyzel 'Flash' (now fixed). Well this is as close to a magic board that I have had in ages for good waves in the 2-5 foot range. Very neutral board in that it does not have or do too much of anything. Basically the board just goes where and does what I want it to without even thinking m...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Had super fun surf yesterday with nice clean 3-5 foot waves with some power to them. It was inspiring to surf with Mike Esposito (former South African pro and big wave hellman). As he heads towards 60 years old Mike was still ripping and dominating . If I can surf half as good as him when I'm pushin...

Re: Jetstar
I flew Tiger recently for the first time. I was sceptical as I had heard some bad stories however I found them to be excellent. I understand they are now owned by Virgin. Flew to Brisbane. No problems or extra charge for boards. Got off the plane and by the time I got to the terminal only had to wai...

Re: post your modern day sickness
Anyone know someone good to fix a minor crease on the Northern Beaches?. Surfed the Pyzel on the weekend and it went insane. Unfortunately I creased it. The crease is only fairly shallow and barely broke the glass. It did not go through the stringer. Basically it runs just in front of the side fin f...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Had a super fun surf mid morning on my new Pyzel. What an awesome little stick. Did everything and went everywhere I wanted it to without hesitation. Until I creased the fck$a believe it or not coming into shore on my gut. Luckily its a very shallow crease and did not go through the stringer. Should...

Re: Josh Dowling Designs
Sounds like we are in a similar situation Josh. I see my little bloke on weekends and a good chick I know came round and blew my knob as soon as she found out what happened. I dont know how I survived either but 6 months later and things are coming together already. Plus Im surfing more and the quiv...

^^^ have you suddenly changed your tune like others because Kelly is now revisiting the whole rockered out board thing? Just interested, not accusing.
I'm expecting that if Kelly starts riding more of them people will start calling them the ants pants again?.. Like the quad fad

Re: post your modern day sickness

Pyzel - The Flash Model 5'11 x 18 1/2 x 2 3/16 rounded square single to double, 25L Took the board out last night in 2 - 3 foot wind swell that was slightly fat. the first thing I noticed about the board on the very first wave was that it broke it...

Re: Ask Carroll
Beefran, the racing mal is an absolute bargain I got off ebay that was sold by someone who had no idea what they were selling. Board is a standard length epoxy board hand shaped by Gordon Jackson and was sold to me in close to perfect condition with cover for $120. Lucky for me it was listed in the ...
