One of my most memorable surfing moments was last year, when it was a beautiful winters day and for the first time ever i was surfing outside of sydney. I surfed a spot called spooky point in angourie...there were 2 locals out, but i remember just suiting up, and feeling the adrenaline rush just pad...

I'm going to put a bit of support out there for Mr Ben Horvath, the fella who gives the coastalwatch reports for sydney's beaches, cause he's copped an absolute pasting... I agree with everyone on the fact that he does tend to undersize his waves (maybe he's going by the Hawaiian system of sizing??)...

Sounds like everyone who was able to have a surf today would be sitting back watching origin tonight pretty content... Bondi was working again today, plenty of closeouts, but plenty of makeable sections too round middle and south, but around 8am, the south point really started to fire. Now, just a q...

bronte 12/6/06
realsurfers, was down at Bronte this am, having a look at the surfers. It was pretty massive, there were about half a dozen guys out there...and around 10am, a pair with a jet ski started towing in. While the guys paddling in were managing fine, it was my first time seeing an actual tow in crew in a...

I've had tons to fit into only a year and bit of surfing; The thing that most shits me is when i set for a wave, knowing that people are watching and then have a shocker...it's such a confiedence buster. Ps: at bondi on the sat morn, there were half a dozen or so guys go right into the southern pocket, very deep, where there was beef burger right barrels...i was about 30 metres further up, on the shoulder (much safer picking off the easier ones)...there were plenty of wipeouts, but the group looked ...

Dreamin, mate it sounds as if we are at very similar levels on the surfing journey. I went out friday morning at bondi round 6:45am, couldn't do a rock jump off, too high tide, so paddled out round middle...made it out back but was puffing...there were about half a dozen surfers sprinkled about. I p...

Ok, clearly left the beach this morning f(riday)with tail between legs. Got down to bondi round 6:40am, hoping for some good sized waves and smaller crowds before uni...It was looking pretty big (Coastalwatch was saying 4-6', swellnet 5-6') The tide was too full for the rock jump off, so went to mid...

Went out this morning, sunday round 6:45am, got to bondi, and the new swell had arrived, looked really inviting, 3-4' with nice offshores...and it also was a perfect day to try and do my first rock jump off, off the south point...not the most gracefull attempt, but i pulle...

In reply to the original message posted...There's a photo in 'general surf discussion' in the thread 'Bondi 9.04.06'...which has an amazing photo of a bloke coming down the face of a wave face that would have been 12-15' off Ben Buckler in the recent big south swell...and i'm not sure what he's ridi...
