One of my most memorable surfing moments was last year, when it was a beautiful winters day and for the first time ever i was surfing outside of sydney. I surfed a spot called spooky point in angourie...there were 2 locals out, but i remember just suiting up, and feeling the adrenaline rush just pad...

For some bloody reason, i find watching shark docos fascinating, especially on whites...and reading these forums about Noah's, it's like those slow motion sports injuries...u just can't stop watching/reading them... I've never seen a shark in thw water, but i know that if i do, i'll crap myself so b...

I'm going to put a bit of support out there for Mr Ben Horvath, the fella who gives the coastalwatch reports for sydney's beaches, cause he's copped an absolute pasting... I agree with everyone on the fact that he does tend to undersize his waves (maybe he's going by the Hawaiian system of sizing??)...

lol - reading my post again, it does sound toolish to use the word 'technical', guess i've been reading too many magazines...in simple speak i just meant 'tricky', 'hard', 'steeper', sucking up quicker??

Strewth it was chunky...i was out from 8:30am till about 11am, and there were some of the hollowest rights in the southern pocket. It was really big (double overhead set waves)....

In reply to the original message posted...There's a photo in 'general surf discussion' in the thread 'Bondi 9.04.06'...which has an amazing photo of a bloke coming down the face of a wave face that would have been 12-15' off Ben Buckler in the recent big south swell...and i'm not sure what he's ridi...
