Re: Just general surfing stuff

Although you could argue surfing has a higher proportion of random luck than a lot of sports. I think they should be required to specifically identify which god they are refering to. “I would like to thank Huey for sending me that double up barrel that got me out of a combo.” “Kanaloa has gifted me ...

Re: Can you help with a couple DVD copies ?

I remember seeing MOTE at the Capitol Coolangatta. It was a big deal. MP was just a hot local kid in those days and having him on the big screen with surf gods like Nat and guys from Sydney and Hawaii was mind blowing. Probably for him too. Saw Crystal Voyager at the Kingscliff Amenities Hall. We us...

Re: Can you help with a couple DVD copies ?

Weren’t there issues with the Doors soundtrack like a lot of old movies?
Pink Floyd gave Greenough the rights to use Echoes in Crystal Voyager and MOTE had an original soundtrack.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Checked the beach cams at Bondi. Semi low tide. A pile of people swimming in the rain and a pack of people on foamies taking off on elevator shaft close outs. It’s funny watching novices lack of surf awareness manifest itself. Have to admire their tenacity and optimism though. Maybe this wave will b...

Record Temperatures

Mexico and the southern parts of USA are experiencing temps in the high 40s Celsius. Multiple records broken. Just a constant round of heatwaves, floods and droughts worldwide. Fingers crossed Oz is having a break at the moment.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Nah, Bondi is putrid at the moment. Barely not closing out at high tide. Saw The Bra this morning. It looked way better….plus another couple of spots around here.

It was a custom for an Irish friend of Steve’s.
Correct.
Football part, I don’t know. Was just speculating his build.
Cheers, Buddy. Custom made wetsuits are a niche market.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

You mean the suit was custom made for an Irish football player?
I was speculating about the cut of suits in Japan where the suits come from.

Yeh.
It’s pretty good.
Not a perfect fit but does a solid job.
I’m picturing the guy it was made for as that classic Irish footy player build, strong and solid through the hips, wiry arms, small chest.
Rather than a Japanese guy. Do they make wetsuits with short legs over there?

I know it's an inch thicker, but even allowing for that it's way, way heavier and stiffer and harder to paddle in.
No wonder it's a bit stiff.
I noticed that too
Is Steve having difficulty with converting millimeters to imperial measurements?

Man, Narrabeen looks ordinary. Lots of close outs and rail bogs.
