Re: Skin Cancer Check Up

Had my chunk hacked out. Out of the water for at least a week.
Doc said sea water was good for the wound after that. No surfing.
Swimming pools and fresh water were a no no.
Stitches out in two weeks.

Re: Skin Cancer Check Up

Well yes, Trev. You can shove it up your arse too :-D-: However it takes a professional to know what to look for. Rather than just having a recreational or amateur exploration of the inside of your bladder or bum hole. What worries me is why that thing turned up on my FB feed just after I'd read ab...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I went off it after my first sign of a bladder tumour. That happened directly after flogging it up a steep hill around here. There are plenty of those. I take it easy now.

Re: Skin Cancer Check Up

Yeah, I had one for four days this time last year. At least I will be under a general anaesthetic.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

There’s a pretty good exertrail in Queens Park I hit on my bike ride if it’s not busy. I’m lucky I don’t have to ride on the road much. Just dodging road warriors on racing bikes in Centennial Park.

No. if you are about to go for an examination where that is the best possible outcome it’s definitely not something to look forward to.

Re: Skin Cancer Check Up

Yeah, I have to go in for an “inspection” in a couple of weeks. That entails having a keyhole camera stuck up my pee hole. If that’s good I just have it annually after that.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

TBH, I admire beans for his persistence in surfing along the eastern beaches. I reckon if I only got one or two (or even three) "okay" waves in a session, I'd probably look at mountain biking. 😡 I just made a decision to try and surf most days. Actually was about to can it when I drove to the Bra a...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Crap at The Bra. High point was drifting down near the flags in the rip and then paddling out to sea to get out of the rip. Shot me right up to the next break. Got an okayish one in so all up a win.

What stage is it at ?

Hopefully a stage 0, which is just a matter of cutting the appropriate barrier out around the site ... but that still around 10mm.
That’s what I think it is from talking to the Doc. He’s going to do it in his surgery so presumably not too big.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Caught a couple at Bronte yesterday. Lovely long lines rolling in. Big clean up set at the end made me think this old fella was ready to come in though. Bigger and rougher today.

Re: Skin Cancer Check Up

Turns out the small mole was a melanoma. Have to go back and get a bigger chunk cut out next week. Make sure you get regular check ups. Doctor wouldn’t have noticed if he hadn’t had photographic records of my back.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz for a late arvo paddle with my boy Surf was shit but he had a lot of fun. Some cnut dinged my board and on the way home had to go and rescue the wifes shitheap as the battery had died. My reward was we got takeout for dinner, Pork Banh Mi if you must know, and am now neck...
