Re: Knee Replacement
Isn’t that some refinement on a TENS machine? My mother used to use one. I have a friend who suffers from Parkinson’s and she swears by it. I still don’t have any pain. My muscle strength hasn’t fallen away badly (although I might find that not to be the case when I get back in the water). Down the...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I was out sailing in the swell on Monday evening, it definitely made it exciting. I wasn't out sailing, but I was at the boat show, checking out the new Seawind catamarans ... and I've still got a boner ! Is that the 1170? It’s a magic boat huh? Have a 1200 right now. But the 1700 would be an upgra...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I just read the beachgrit article and a bit of the tism reared its ugly head when I read Derek say the adjacent footy ground to urbnsurf in Melbourne is nicknamed Windy Hill. Essendon's traditional homeground and training centre were at 'Windy Hill' in, wait for it,... Essendon. When they wanted to...

That barrel at 1.10 was insane. So deep and dealing with potential drop ins.

Re: Pipe Masters
I reacon they had no choice but to cancel cloud break that day. The surfers literally weren't equipped to surf that size. (And it was a much better spectacle) But pipe on Sunday arvo? Terrible call. They'll be deciding the comp at 3ft pipe looking at the forecast.

yeah well I think you can see the difference (ironically perhaps) in the way Nike has treated many of its gracefully ageing stars in the past 20 years Nike has had its brief wobbles over the years but it knows the value of Michael Jordan even today - the powerful connection with US sporting legend ...

A healthy company that knew itself and had its eye on the future would have been training Kelly for a spot on the board. don't necessarily agree with that. Publicly listed companies boardrooms are ruthless and driven by profit. 2 things I don't think Kelly could fall in line with at the expense of ...

Re: Teahupoo Contest
Rowley?? No chance IMO. Maybe a few pipe specialists like Healy or JOB, Ricardo. Rowley loves the big stuff, prepares for it, but the intricacies of what went down today is pretty specialised. Gotta say medina surprised the hell outta me today. He charged. He gets lots offside (that whole inside pos...

Re: Teahupoo Contest
Do any if you junkies think there is anyone outside of the wct top echelon could have surfed those waves better? I think not. Postponing the wct at cloudbreak last year was worth it to witness what big wave specialists could do in those conditions but what went down this week was the best display of...

Re: Teahupoo Contest
Don't get me wrong, I think Medina deserved to win the heat. But in the context of the scores they'd already given out Slater deserved to get the score on his last wave. John John did too. No he didn't. Gabs waves were far better than slaters. Compare Gabs first wave to slaters last. IMO gabs was b...
