Re: Red Bluff dreaming
I'd love to go, but just the cost of petrol is more than an airfare to Indo, plus, there's no cheap mango smoothies, banana honey pancakes, beautiful semi-naked euro sex goddesses littering the beach, the daily fee's are more than the cost of an AC room, and who the fcuk is going to clean up my tent...

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
I think any surfboard would be better than any SUP, having to modify the design so you can stand on it while stationary completely screws the performance parameters.
I'm still predicting their eventual demise

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
Obviously a bargain- gone in less than 24 hours. Could have got Digger to pick it up for you. The ad was taken down within 3 hours chris, takes me 3.5 to get down to Margaret River. Digger is up north. The original Bert Berger boards made in his Mandurah factory were, IMO, the best surfboard...

That one is an original I reckon, probably somewhere between 10-15 years old, and may well be in perfect nick

Its just gamesmanship chrisb. He is, technically, a close to perfect TOTY candidate, and as such he realises its wise to wipe out all traces of posts that could be construed as either lucid or intelligent

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Buoys are not very useful for predicting swell in Perth and Indo. The best ones are cape Naturalist and Rottnest for both, there's usually lots of swell off the coast around Perth, but the bathymetry makes it hard to predict, I normally change metres to feet and then you often don't even get that. B...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
As for as surf size predictions, I no longer even look at or consider wave height any more, I find wave energy in kJs way more useful as to what I'm going to be surfing. 400kJ - just surfable, bring a mal 1000kJ - surfable, use your groveler if you have one 2000kJ - good sets 2500kJ - really good so...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
At my local beaches, everyone I know uses the iggy scale. So on around 350 days a year all the guys at your local would be discussing wave heights of either 0 or 1', unless you decided to use inches. On one or two days it might be 3' Its just not a very useful scale for most days in Oz, every discu...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah chrisb, but you know that to use feet in that bizaro way is a badge of honor among the real core, that it identifies the real surfers from us mere wanna be's, it shows how incontestably macho you are when you can dismiss a frightening 20' monster day as, "oh about 3', maybe 4' on the sets I rec...

Nah, ya gotta do chins (paddle power). I don't have anywhere to do them at my house, only when I go for a walk or a run at the local park, 20 is my limit ATM.

Surf fitness
Realised my fitness might be OK (ish) but my surf fitness has a long way to go. Thought I might do this workout regularly: http://www.sbsboards.com/top-20-surf-fitness-exercises-power-strength-stability/ Anyone got something better? Oh yeah, on the days I don't surf I usually do a 60 min swim one da...
